“Six of us were travelling up to Scotland and booked 3 rooms for one night. We all thought that the rooms were very clean and comfortable with amazing views across to Bamborough. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room was most welcome after a long drive. We ate at the restaurant which had a very good menu, the food was very good and well presented and reasonably priced. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful too. I would happily recommend Purdy Lodge without hesitation.”

“The staff were very attentive, especially Sam. On the downside, we suspect ongoing maintenance will be required for very minor things like the toilet roll holders and in our room the wardrobe door didn’t fully shut, so the light shone through; and I wasn’t overly impressed by the breakfast. In spite of those extremely minor issues we would love to stay again. It’s a lovely and impressive hotel in an amazing location - and the focaccia is to die for!”

“We stayed for our Anniversary trip and I booked the Olympic suite restaurant and wasn’t disappointed, fabulous food, wonderful attentive staff who couldn’t do enough for us , room was fantastic comfortable beds and pillows , bed was enormous, we had a bath and shower and tea making facilities, everything was within walking distance, lovely few days would certainly go back and a great choice , my only negative was parking which can spoil your experience and made arrival for us very stressful ”

“We paid 90 pounds for a 3 single-beded room but got a 70 ponds room. The staff said it not possible to chang the room but are willing to return our money back. The staff is friendly but somehow we still frustrated about the negotiations.”

“First visit here and very pleasantly surprised. We arrived about 7pm and immediately you could feel it had a very good ambience. It was busy with most people enjoying an eveing meal. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We hadn't booked a table for our evening meal as we weren't sure of our plans when booking the room. However, on arrival staff enquired if we wished to dine and a table was reserved for us at 8pm. The food here very good and generous. I had duck spring rolls which were fab and……
