"Definitely accessible via train and walking, but I recommend taking a taxi from the station just because there’s not a lot of room for pedestrians. As far as the hotel goes, the staff are very kind and accommodating, there are several shops on the bottom floor, you’re able to purchase local goods at the front desk and there is an amazing kimono shop one block away called Aridayagofuku where you can buy very high-quality textiles, local jewelry, and seasonal kimono. "Apologies that we arrived late at hotel an hour after the dinner time. Thanks hotel owner offered to servie us late dinner! We stayed at hotel for 2 days with half-boarding. The room was exceptionally clean, modern and equipped with all amenities. They served varieties of teas and desserts in room. We loved their tea congee, and chicken hot pot. So glad we chose to stay with them to explore Yoshino! Definitely a 5-star! Highly recommended! "

If hiking be aware the house is about 2km from the trail and you have to descend the amount you climbed to get back to the road- hike back up approx 45 minutes. "We enjoyed our stay at the temple. We booked a superior room with the futon which I now know means sleeping on the floor. I would recommend getting a bed for those with aches and pains because it’s very uncomfortable on the floor - you will not get good sleep. The temple itself is very beautiful. The service is the morning was fun and I am glad we participated. We did the cemetery walk ourselves - a tour was not offered to us which it was apparently offered to other guests. The cemetery is stunning and we really enjoyed it at day and night. The food was meh…. Luckily there is a cafe across the street. Overall I recommend for one night"
