Ella Alkyna – Adults Only
8/10 Good
"This resort is beautiful. The views are stunning and the rooms are wonderful! If you want a resort with nothing to do but to sit at the pool or the beach, this is the one. It was peaceful, calm and relaxing. Only negative sides were at night, the bars would only have 1 bar tender working at each location, which made for a long wait sometimes. We booked a week long vacation and on day 2 I decided I wanted a massage. When I called to schedule one, they had no openings and were completely booked. Apparently you need to call in advance to book a massage before you arrive. Last, the mini fridge comes stocked with drinks, after they ran out, we went to the front desk to ask them to refill drinks and Coffee and they never did it. So some of the service was slow, but overall the place is worth the get away and relaxation. The food was always great! There is 1 buffet and 2 restaurants, but you can only eat at the restaurants 1 time each and the buffet for every other meal. Surprisingly the buffet was great and the options were always changing. The staff was super kind and we enjoyed our stay. Be prepared to walk a big hills to get to and from the beach!"

Kontokali Bay Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"A very pleasant hotel with happy, friendly staff, especially my chambermaid. I had a main building, sea view room. Nice view with plenty of storage. Thought bathroom was a bit basic. Shower floor tiles are slippery but hotel does provide a shower mat. Sink was a bit ‘contemporary’ in design as it was self draining (no plug) so was difficult to rinse through items like swimming costumes. Breakfast in main restaurant provided a good selection. I have never seen such a big block of fresh butter from which you can carve out a portion! Buffet dinner selection was also good. No need for anyone to rush down at 6 am to reserve a sunbed as there are plenty around the site - beach, pool, garden and on a jetty. There is a large beach and a smaller ‘quiet’ beach. Coarse sand with some gravelly areas but walkable bare foot. There is a water sports area on site in a small harbour type area with speedboats and jet skis. It was very quiet during my visit but during the high summer months I expect it would get quite noisy. Not sure this hotel would suit someone with mobility issues as it is quite a few slopes and lots of steps."

"Spotlessly clean and well maintained, the place looked like a newly built hotel. Staff are amazing. Food was varied and high quality, we used the main buffet, the French and the Asian restaurants for dinner and the buffet and Italian for lunch. Drinks were all top shelf brands and service at the bars fast and efficient. The all inclusive is truly "all inclusive". However, if you are used to Mexico all inclusive then this place is a little more restrictive as you are limited to the number of a-la carte dinners that you can have in a week. The room that we had was great. Modern, lovely sea view, spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The mini bar is also part of the all inclusive. There's a water park for the kids and it is well away from the main pools. The gym is adequate. Spacious but lacks sufficient equipment if the hotel is busy. All in all, don't hesitate to book. We've done Mexico 4 times and Dubai/Fujaira all inclusive 3 times. This place did not disappoint and we will be going back. Tip: if you are not going on a package deal, hire a car. We used Eurohire and just let the car sit for 3 days at the hotel. It was cheaper than a taxi from/to the airport. "

"Clean room friendly staff"

Sandy Beach Resort by Rizos Resorts
4/10 Poor
"We stayed here for 3 nights all inclusive we were very disappointed in the hotel the room we had booked was a premium room and the room although large felt dated and the bed was very cheeky. There was an joing door to the next room covered by a large wardrobe but we could hear the people next door talk and snore like they were in our room and could hear all the bathroom noises. Which was very off-putting. There is alot of upselling in the all inclusive certain drinks were not available unless you paid more which was not good for the price can't even get a free Pina colada. The food was ok but it was limited and often the range was much the same. The hotel needed a refresh with paint some parts were being painted whilst we were there perhaps because it's early season. Over all the stay wasn't great the staff were loud in the morning coming to clean the rooms we were woken up by them starting their shifts talking very loud in the hallways. And for the price we paid it wasnt a quality that we have experienced on other all inclusive hotels on this trip for less money like Roda resort where we are currently it's chalk and cheese in comparison for less money so much better quality in every way. Sandy Villas Resort by Rizos Resorts
6/10 Okay
"We stayed in a private Sandy Villa with its own pool, and it was amazing – our son even learned to swim within hours, and swimming at night was magical for the kids. The villa itself was spotless and spacious, and the housekeeping team and buggy drivers were brilliant. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the reception staff, who were very rude. Sadly, the rest of the resort didn’t live up to the same standard. Part of our villa had a strong sewage smell which took four days to “fix”, and even then the problem never fully went away. The food in the main restaurant was average at best, and the dining experience was stressful, with constant noise and crowds. The drinks were another major disappointment – no branded soft drinks, which feels like such a simple fix. The dining areas, pools (other than the Sandy Villas’ pool), and the beach were all overcrowded, with far too many guests for the facilities available. As for the à la carte restaurants – good luck getting a booking! The Sandy Villas themselves are 5-star quality, but being tied to the sister hotel drags the whole experience down. If food and drinks were available on the villa side, we would return in a heartbeat. Until then, it remains a holiday of two halves – 5-star villa, 2-star resort"
