「Last minute booking for Easter weekend. Turned out to be a great little hotel with some grounds with a stream and a lake for the dog/ kids to explore. Some gray pubs nearby for dinner (Ye Olde George). The owners are very friendly and showed us the historic cellars. Great for a break, room was smallish but had everything needed.」

「This is a lovely old tavern with comfortable accommodation. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful, and it is in a great location. There are plenty of references to the White Star Line, in particular the Titanic, which was very interesting. The food was nice, especially breakfast, and there was even a pub quiz on our second night which we really enjoyed. We stayed here for three nights before joining a cruise. 「I intentionally booked the Junior Suite according to the website photo for that particular room but the staff had put me in another room. It was quite clear from their reply that they gave the room to someone else, so upgraded me to a modern room. Disappointing as I wanted the character of the old style room but that said, the room we were given was spacious and comfortable. My biggest complaint was that it was so warm we had to keep the windows open all the time, which meant we had to listen to traffic noise all the time, and there is a lot of traffic noise. Other notes: Window blinds were damaged and half-functional. Combination clothes washer/dryer does not dry effectively. Only one key is provided for an apartment that sleeps six. 」
