"The hotel is great. We were there just for the convenience because our flight to Paris was at 6am. But convenience has a price. And this hotel isn't cheap. If you can stay amd enjoy breakfast included in your stay then it's even better. Unfortunately we didn't have that chance as breakfast only opens at 5am. The standard room has a very nice bathtub, not the american size bathtub but the French standard size which was really nice. They also have a pool and a sauna, also super nice. I wish i could have stayed longer. The food and drinks at their lounge, Artemis were pretty decent but pricey. Overall quality hotel witha price tag."
"The Avra Hotel lived up to the many reviews and we have no hesitation staying there again. It is not a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons, but at the price you get a clean, quiet, friendly staffed facility away from the loud and chaotic buzz of Athens.
Near by local restaurants featuring authentic Greek food at reasonable prices are also a plus.
Tiny recommendation, email responses can be slow, so call them if you have any questions."
Alekos Luxury Suites Free 24h Transportation From - To Airport
6/10 Okay
"I received a message inquiring when we would arrive to check in. When responding, I could see the message had been read, however I did not have a response with instructions. There was a breakdown in communications somehow and it was by chance we saw the shuttle van pull into the other property and were able to check into our room. The instructions on Expedia said we would receive an email about check in approximately 1 day prior to our stay and that was not the case. The apartment was not extremely dirty, however was not as clean as I would like or expect. The shower had a leak in the corner of the floor and made the floor completely wet when getting out of the shower. George was extremely friendly and so was the shuttle driver to the airport."
"Property itself is lovely and well kept. Pool grounds very nice. It was super windy that day so we didn’t stay long poolside. The front desk receptionist was not very helpful when we checked in. She didn’t provide any information and getting information was like pulling teeth. Bell boy was very helpful.
At the bar pool side we suspect they are tampering with the alcohol. My husband had an Ouzo and immediately after started feeling very sick, tired, headachy. He is accustomed to ouzo, and at his weight of 275lbs, one drink has no effect. they are an all inclusive resort for some customers, so we suspect now they may be diluting with pure alcohol. We have no proof, but it’s a very strange coincidence. Room was nice. Bed comfy, linens nice. Breakfast was good next day. Never found the spa. The receptionist gave vague instructions which we tried to follow. We tried to get downstairs in a glass elevator near the lobby and we got trapped in that hot elevator for a while before we could get out. I don’t recommend it. The other small regular elevator was OK, but it doesn’t lead to the spa on the lower level."
"We love the area and we do hope it evolves positively as it is still recovering from the previous economic pressures. We absolutely enjoyed the beach and the restaurants in the area.
The property is old and we sympathize with the effort required to maintain and upkeep the property.
A couple short and hopefully less expensive suggestions:
- possibly find a secure way to provide European to US electrical adaptors.
- a sharp knife in the kitchen will be useful. Most visitors cannot travel with this.
- if we did not miss it, perhaps mention the hot water instructions in the very helpful check in guidelines.
- also in the check in guidelines, perhaps mention that guests need to be mindful of their volume during the night.
Other than these suggestions, we did enjoy our stay and again, we appreciate the challenges."
"We chose Seasabelle becuase it was close tot he airport and our connecting flight required an overnight stay. It’s across the street from a beautiful beach. We were very happy to stay here instead of the Sofitel at the Airport. Staff were nice and the hotel was good value."
