Decent stay

Nice pool and outdoor area. Bedrooms and bathrooms ok. Living room and kitchen a bit out of date. Bad smell on terrace. Overall a decent stay but propably more suited for younger and larger groups.

Gute Unterkunft für große Gruppen

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 18 Personen in der Unterkunft. Die Anbindung in die Innenstadt von Alicante ist mit einem kurzen Fußweg bis zur Bahnhaltestelle gut erreichbar. Supermärkte sind ebenfalls fußläufig erreichbar. Die Unterkunft ist gut, jedoch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Kommunikation ist ohne Probleme verlaufen.

Gorgeous! Incredible! Fantastic!

We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The host Maria was fantastic and incredibly helpful with communication both before and during the stay. The pool is really huge and fantastic but is deep all the way through so might not be good for children or less confident swimmers. The garden is paradise! There’s a good amount of shade as well as sunny spots. The bbq area is fantastic. The charming and eclectic decor is fun to discover and entirely unique. There is a lot of space inside the villa and more than enough bathrooms. The beds themselves are not luxurious (the mattresses are thin and there are a lot of bunk beds which can be a bit of a challenge for adults) but it provides all the basic things you need and we spent nearly all of our time enjoying the outside! It’s easy to get to from the airport, and the tram stop is VERY close which can take you to the beach in 5 mins (or you can walk for about 30 mins) or into the centre of Alicante. Some nice restaurants and bars within a short stroll too. We really enjoyed the privacy and safety of the property which helped us all get an even tan ;) As an LGBT group we felt incredibly welcome - and the host even helped us find the best local gay bars! We look forward to returning to La Gran Duquessa in the future!

Fabulous Villa for large group

A great holiday with 4 families of friends. The outside area is huge and the pool is perfect. Loads of space indoors and out. Easy to get out and about especially using the tram at the end of the road. Very helpful owner. A fab holiday.

Great location and wonderful pool

We had a wonderful week with 10 adults and 9 kids. Overall the property was very good. Some of the kitchenware could use an upgrade and the bed layout wasn't optimal for 5 families privacy wise. However, air conditioning in every bed room was extremely appreciated as well as the drink cooler on the porch. The owner was very friendly and we managed well despite some language challenges. Recommended.

Prachtige ruime villa met een mooie en goed onderhouden tuin.

Deze villa is ideaal om met een grote groep mensen te logeren. Ruime en nette kamers, prachtige tuin met heel wat faciliteiten voor groot en klein, goed uitgeruste keuken, voldoende badkamers. Aangezien het s avonds in maart nog wat fris was om buiten te vertoeven was het ideaal met de grote leefruimte om het binnen gezellig te maken. Kortom wij hebben een hele leuk week gehad en veel plezier gemaakt met de bmx vrienden. De foto's op de website komen helemaal overeen met de werkelijkheid. Top locatie !!! Winkels, bars, beach zijn vlakbij.

We have been with 22 bmx Friends in your house. We had a great time . There was enough place for everyone, nice & praktical kitchen, big rooms. The garden & Pool were amazing it's just like on the website. Shops, bars, beach, ... Everything is nearby. Everything was very clean Only there were less towels for each bathroom. We recommend your house to every big group of persons.

Perfect for what we needed!

We used the property for a reunion of 20 people, although the property could have fit an extra 10 comfortably. It was perfect for what we needed, the pool is huge but in November was a little cold, which cannot be helped, and there are plenty of activities to do, including a huge football table, table tennis, and a volleyball court. Combined with the many sunbeds and the lazy chill out beds, we spent 3 days and two nights exactly how we wanted. The coach from the airport was simple enough to meet and the journey is 20 minutes. With many bars 500m away and the beach another 500m it was close enough to everything, including the supermarket by the tram or taxi (although for the main big shop the coach stopped at the supermarket en route from the airport). Overall, the property exceeded my expectations. The owner Maria was very helpful and was thorough on check in and check out as should be expected. This is a private villa with neighbors so at 10pm the music outside does have to go inside but at this point, we all went out to the bars, perfect timing. The BBQ area is again perfect for groups and there was so much food! We made the error of not getting the paella which would've been nice so we would recommend that. Thank you for everything! Dan

Amazing Villa with great vibes

Came to this Villa with a crew of 29 18 year old's, 11 girls and 18 boys, we found our stay to be most delightful! To have stayed in a villa with such a magnificent pool was a true privilege not to mention the 22 man table football which we would quite often play prior a night out in Alicante - nights out came with mixed results so if your planning to party make sure you do your research before and be sure to pay 'John Mulligans' night club a visit as that was carnage/ best night. We very much enjoyed the garden which was very nice and many places to chill out including the 'egg' however do watch out for the exploding cactus although harmless, very scary. On the last night we took to having a BBQ which was truly marvellous, our friend Stanley cooked us a great paella which we all ate outside on the table and chairs provided. All in all the Grand Duchess was a really great villa in which memories were made and one day we hope to return.

Una boda a medida

Pasamos cuatro días inolvidables celebrando nuestro boda. La casa fué perfecta para los caterings ya que dispone de una amplia cocina y un amplio terreno alrededor de la piscina que hace posible una experiencia preciosa. La zona de la barbacoa nos dejó en el recuerdo una noche muy especial. La casa estaba muy limpia y bien organizada. Sin duda volveríamos a celebrar nuestro enlace allí.

Moreover, the villa offers you a lot of privacy and with a BBQ in the garden you can have a joyful evenings with your group. The supermarket is about a 10 minutes walk away. Furthermore by taking the tram it takes only a few minutes to get to beach. The only problem we had was that a lot of taxi drivers did not know exactly how to get there. So to put it all in a nutshell, it is really a wonderful house for spending pleasant holidays.

A dream holiday Villa

Fantastic place to spend your holiday, the Villa is really big, has loads of seating space and activities such as volleyball/badminton net, table tennis, games, huge pool, lovely garden and loads of outside space to relax and you can cook loads of food on the barbecue because it's huge. Close to the tram station and the beach but still in a perfect relaxed setting with lots of nature on the property. We all loved our stay and can't wait to go again.
