Great location in Amsterdam. The host was an excellent communicator, was very welcoming and gave us lots of helpful travel advice for Amsterdam. There are steep stairs, but that is only a problem if you have mobility issues or large luggage. We would definitely stay there again.

Our hosts were fantastic. The room was great and the location is just perfect for getting around the Canal Zone. Every old home in Amsterdam is going to have stairs. This place HAS stairs. All in all we had a wonderful time and I would absolutely stay with Wimmo and Godwin again.

Beautiful room with a garden view. Kind host who let us drop off our bags extra early. Lots of little touches including snacks, drinks, coffee machine, tea pot. Great restaurant recommendations. It started with a great welcome. A lovely safe and comfortable stay. Great location with good restaurants etc in the heart of the canal district. 10 mins walk from the station. We loved our stay at Barangay. Starting with great communication from our hosts weeks before our trip, a warm & prompt welcome upon arrival, and just the cutest accommodations. The Jordaan neighborhood was the perfect spot for us—lively, clean and convenient to everything we wanted to see. We walked for miles and miles seeing all corners of the city, but we were always so excited to return to our neighborhood in the evening for dinners & cocktails, followed by a restful night’s sleep in our comfy beds. There are a couple restaurants on the block that draw a lively crowd in the evening, but they quiet down at a very respectable hour and never interfered with sleeping. Our hosts were the perfect balance of helpful and kind, providing recommendations whenever requested, and promptly responding to all messages. Our room & en suite bathroom were pristine upon arrival, and cleaned each day after we set out for our adventures. Although we did not cook in the kitchen, we loved being able to come home and make a cup of tea at night, and being greeted by the lovely music and charming, eclectic decor as we made our way up the quintessential Dutch stairs:) Would definitely stay again if we are back in Amsterdam, and would recommend without hesitation!

Wonderful location and owners!

This property has tons of Amsterdam character. It is located within walking distance of Amsterdam Centraal and within the tourist canal areas. The room was comfortable and clean. My favorite part was the owners. They were extremely helpful with travel tips and so nice! We enjoyed this stay immensely.

Highly recommended

We were only in Amsterdam for under 24 hours before catching our flight, so we spent most of our time exploring the city and sadly didn't get to spend much time at the hotel. The time we did spend at the hotel was awesome. We were welcomed warmly and our room was ready even though we were a bit early. The room was very spacious compared to other hotels in Amsterdam and was very clean and well-appointed. We had everything we needed and slept really well. I highly recommend this place - it's well-located and full of charm. We will be back. Thank you!

We stayed at Barangay for my husband's 50th birthday. The staff was so kind to put a Happy Birthday banner on the wall of our room, and fulfill my request for stroopwafels on arrival! Edo carried our heaviest bags up the steep stairs, and the owner, Wimmo, made us feel like old friends, giving us a tour of the property, restaurant recommendations, and insights on what not to miss at the Saturday market. In addition to the excellent hospitality, both our room and bathroom were clean and quite large for a traditional Amsterdam home. We loved the tropical decor (Wimmo's exquisite taste shines throughout the property). A thoughtful breakfast basket was refreshed daily, and we appreciated that the room had a refrigerator, air conditioning, and a thermostat we could control. Every detail was carefully considered and provided for to ensure a comfortable stay: multiple luggage stands, wardrobe storage, a full-length mirror, spare toiletry items in case you forgot yours, a hairdryer, travel guides, and a curated book of information for your stay. There was a kitchen available for guests' use, and a bench out front for people watching or to enjoy a cigar. The only minor drawback we encountered was with the shower. Although the hot water was plentiful, the water pressure was strong, and it was equipped with both a rainfall shower head and a handheld attachment—the water would back up in the shower and leak out into the bathroom with each use. But even so, we will return!

Possibly the best B&B in Amsterdam ❤️❤️❤️

When my friend and I decided to have a trip to Amsterdam the Barangay was the first B & B that popped up on the search, and we are so very happy it did. We have never stayed in such a lovely place, from the reception from Mynor when we arrived later than expected, to the beautiful room ( and gorgeous bathroom with magic toilet with bottom washing bonus, I used it even when I didn't need to!) The room was very clean and comfortable and decorated beautifully and we slept like logs. Watched the world going by while eating the most delicious breakfast delivered to our room. The Barangay is in the perfect spot, close to Centraal Station and to the most picturesque parts of the city. Lots of lovely places to eat and drink close by, we loved it and we're sad to leave. We will be back for sure ❤️

Tre overnattinger i Amsterdam. Vi ble tatt imot av et meget hyggelig vertskap. Fint romslig, velutstyrt rom og et deilig bad med et stort badekar og egen dusj. Meget koselig å oppleve et nederlandsk hus med flere bratte trapper. Sentralt beliggende i sentrum av Amsterdam, med flere små koselige restauranter rett utenfor døren. Forskjellige frokoster servert på rommet hver morgen. Maten var meget bra. Absolutt et sted vi vil benytte igjen ved et senere besøk i Amsterdam
