They put us in the basement floor and ask my party how was the sleep. What a joke! If you're in the basement level, I would immediately request for a partial refund if not full. Our room was directly under the lobby and we heard every little sound. In the morning, you will be woken up unless you are a deep sleeper. Save yourself the time and headache. The bathroom was also extremely small. The stairs to downstairs was extremely steep even for Hollands standards. It's worse if you have big luggage too!

I had high hopes for this hotel, but my experience turned into a complete nightmare. Due to an unknown noise issue with my original room, the hotel transferred me to another property. While I understood the situation, the hotel they sent me to was infested with bed bugs. I woke up with bites all over my neck and hands, and the itching ruined the rest of my trip. When I brought this up to Krisotel via Expedia, the only compensation they offered was a refund of the local taxes saying that infested hotel provided “upgraded room” and breakfasts as the compensation which I never asked. I told them to transfer us to other hotel but they couldn’t so giving me a room was an only option. And the breakfast? Are you kidding me? after all those bedbug bites?

The property was decent and did its job after days of sight seeing, but if I’d been put on the ground floor I would not have been happy, there was a heavy sewage smell that hung constantly and even managed to drift up all the way to my room on the second floor at times through the vents and drain in the shower.

Rooms and property were very clean and the location is perfect. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Great coffee in the lobby. Of course being in Amsterdam the building itself is old and the property condition is not perfect but nothing to complain about. The beds were ok, not the most comfortable but not the worst. Bathroom was very nice and the shower was fantastic. Only spent 1 night here but had a good experience overall and would stay here again.

The management style is evident at Krisotel: staff are friendly, informative, professional and patient. The room was spotlessly kept so kudoes to the cleaning staff. Food was fresh and delicious my friend said. Location is great and close to 397 bus from the airport and trams to Central station. Plus walkable most places. The one negative is the restaurant Koe over the road is noisy in the street until 1am weekdays and to 3am weekends. Ask for a non street room.

The location was central and easy to get to - a key requirement for a short stay. Nice cafe room though. Breakfast was not included in our rate but coffee and tea were available. Comfortable seating area. The front desk staff at both check in and out were great. No problem leaving and retrieving baggage. Directtions. Whatever. Set expectations appropriately. It's a budget hotel in Amsterdam. The room will be small and the stairs will be steep. The stairs down to our room were a bit treacherous - more like something you'd see in a submarine than a hotel but again, not really a surprise. Beyond that though, the room was snug but clean and comfortable. No complaints for a short stay. Good bathroom and shower. Overall a good value for basic accommodations in a fantastic location.
