The front desk are really helpful and nice and appreciated the hospitality from them. But the room is quite small and without window, it’s really different with the pic we saw online and the water for shower are just warm but not hot.

Not the friendliest of check ins / guest interaction. Placed in the basement room. When we got to the room, the room had a musty smell (there was a window and air-conditioning). The TV was hanging from the wall wonkily. The TV did not work and the window would not shut / lock so was open and had access to stairs / staff area. I went to reception to mention the window and TV. The receptionist was fairly blunt and stated that they know there are faults and that I booked that basement room. I mentioned that I booked a room that I thought would be secure and would have working facilities. In summary, the receptionist stated that I would have to pay an additional 20 euros to stay in another room. I mentioned that I thought this was unfair. The window and TV are beyond my control and that if the other rooms are empty what is the problem with allowing us another room that has a working window and TV. The receptionist stated that we cannot upgrade to a 'room with a city view" just because we wanted to. The receptionist later sent someone to fix the window so we could leave the room with valuables inside however the service from the receptionist was sharp and not customer accommodating. Although we don't go away for a TV, we do appreciate the facility if it is offered. If we had been away for more than one night, we would have cancelled our booking and gone elsewhere instead.

This is our 3rd time at the Sotel and usually we are so happy with our stay! Unfortunately, this time we were given one of the ground floor rooms, which were much older than the upstairs rooms and could do with a urgent makeover. The beds were comfy as usual, but we had a tiny window that went out into a square of walls. The shower/ bathroom we were really unhappy, the shower was broken and the water sprayed out the back of the shower head with more pressure than the actual shower, along with no suitable drainage for the shower to drain into, so we were left everyday with a soaking wet bathroom floor, that the towels couldn’t even soak. We did report this twice and asked for extra towels to clean but this wasn’t actioned. We did ask if we could change to another room, but were told they were fully booked, even though the ‘rooms available’ was lit in the window. Luckily we are both good sleepers as all 3 nights there was loud music that sounded like it was next door, this went on into the early morning, it was annoying but we did manage to ignore it, a light sleeper would not have been able to block it out. We were really disappointed as both other times we have had a great stay, clean and tidy, which is why we chose to book again. I’m not sure we will be back due to this inconvenience, we felt very forgotten considering this was our 3rd year here. If you are staying here I would call ahead to make sure you are not in rooms 600\700. Our room was 601.

I want to start off by saying the location was perfect, very conveniently located to everything. However, upon arrival, I find out that the elevator doesn’t work, and the receptionist didn’t even offer to help with the luggage’s. I had two luggage's that I needed to carry up two floors. Then, when I arrived to my room, the second you open the door the room reeks of a sewer smell. Given the price you pay for this property, more professionalism and cleanliness is expected. Another issue I had was that the heater would not heat up, it would only blow cold air.
