Overpriced for a construction zone! Poor communication! Misleading listing, not worth the money!
This apt is located in the best neighborhood! Awesome location to explore this amazing city but the listing pics are obviously old as there is a lot more wear & tear on this apartment than in the listing pictures. Each bedroom has 2 old coiled mattress twin beds pushed together with foam covers to try to cover up how old and sunken in the mattresses are, that are extremely uncomfortable and didn’t stay together so belongings kept getting lost in between beds. “Living room” is very small containing only an old loveseat with flat old pillows, no tv or radio or anything to do together in the living area (bedrooms had tvs). No hot water in one of bathroom sinks. We loved the location so were willing to overlook the state of apartment since we spend all day/evening out exploring the city and really just needed a safe and clean place to shower & sleep but sleep on your own time was not happening here as we were woken up at 7am to extremely loud and disruptive construction in the owners apartment above us (loud machines and so much movement we woke up to it sounding/feeling like someone was going to come through the ceiling). Tried to contact hosts to kindly ask if construction could possibly start later (9am on is perfectly acceptable) and they ignored my messages! Who rents out a construction zone for so much €$ and wakes up guests at 7am? And then doesn’t reply to messages?? Terrible experience with host! Highly recommend this neighborhood, you can find a better apt.

Great Apartment on a Beautiful Canal
This apartment is in a perfect location and the pictures are exactly what you get. There are 2 very large bedrooms with 2 good sized baths. We were greeted with a great bottle of wine, which was so appreciated after our long travels (Thank you Daan!) We had an issue with no hot water and a broken hair dryer (which we were alerted to by Daan). The hot water was fixed relatively quickly (needed a new part), and the hair dryer was replaced that same day. Later in our stay, the heat stopped working, but with a call to Daan, it was restarted and heating again within 3 hours. Daan was SUPER responsive, and he has a nice team of helpers to address your every need. There are shops and restaurants close by, and the apartment is in a great location for shopping, and tourist attractions. Our only issue was the noise related to the gutting and rebuilding of the apartment above us. The workers began their drilling and sawing at 6:30 AM!!! After a few days, they delayed their start until 8 AM. We highly recommend this apartment and could stay here again if we ever come back to Amsterdam.

Location & comfort in the Jordaan neighborhood in Amsterdam!
Lovely apartment in a great location for visiting Amsterdam! Very clean with comfortable beds. Perfect for two couples. Quiet neighborhood most of the time (except we did hear some loud voices on Friday night for just a short time as they passed by; but that was only the exception). Host/hostess was very responsive. We would definitely choose this apartment again!

Great location
Perfect size for a family of 4, great location in the Jordaan neighborhood within walking distance to the the Anne Frank house and so many great restaurants and bars. Easy walk to the Tram to explore the rest of the city. Host was super helpful and responsive. Check in/out was a breeze and host left us a nice bottle of wine to enjoy along with coffee for nespresso and tea as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay in Amsterdam.

Lovely stay
We really enjoyed our location and were pleased with the prompt responses we received from the owners any time we had a question. The apartment was very clean and looked just like it appeared on the website. A slight musty odor in the front bathroom was unpleasant and the fan seemed inadequate to remove it. We loved the location of this property and found the host very responsive. The welcome bottle of wine and basic supplies (coffee, tea, sugar etc) were very much appreciated. The apartment is very comfortable and met all our needs.

Convenient place to stay in Amsterdam
We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood..an excellent bakery for croissants 2 blocks away, a number of restaurants, and close to the tram. Basement apartment was surprisingly light and quite comfortable. Stairs in might prove a challenge for someone with limited mobility, but fine for us. Appreciated the espresso maker and tea that was included!

Great location, close to sights, simple furnishings.
The apartment is located right on a canal, close to everything you will want to access. While the photo's are accurate of the space and amenities, the living space and kitchen are small, which was not a huge deal as we were out and about. All was clean and stocked as promised. The plumbing broke on the second day, with the toilet backing up into a bathroom sink. While the landlord got a plumber out to look at it, it could not be fixed until at least the next day so we moved out and were only refunded 2 nights of rent, none of the fees. If you have a problem when you are renting anywhere, get a hold of VRBO so you are not negotiating solely with a landlord.

Amazing location
This location was absolutely perfect- walk, bike or tram to everything in this city but just set apart enough we were on a quiet street with a quaint canal just steps from our door. The accomodations are basic, but everything we needed for our family of four. The descriptions were all accurate to what we found. Daan and Danielle were responsive and helpful at every step of the way. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. We had such a lovely trip! Thank you.

The unit is very claustrophobic. If something would happen, the back bedroom has no way out. The stairs getting into the unit is unsafe. The unit is also pretty dark, no natural daylight will come in. Maybe a check for safety is necessary! Can not believe this unit is approved for renting

Incredible Location!
It’s all about the location with this apartment. It is close to everything! With tram stops close-by, even the too far to walk spots are just an easy tram ride away. The 2 bedrooms were perfect for our family of 4 and with some many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk, it was a pleasure not to have a full kitchen! We were so busy we forgot to drink the wonderful bottle of wine the hosts provided but NEXT TIME! Stay here if you want a beautiful location, close to everything and on a canal! Can’t wait till we can return!

Two bed/two bath = perfect for two couples. The location is great - right on the canal. It's an easy walk to restaurants and the Anne Frank house. Tram stops are close by as well, and the tram system is very easy to use. As a starting point for exploring the city, it's exactly as advertised. We had a great time.

Living space fine, access iffy, communication with hosts impossible
No one to meet and greet us. Instead, email instruction on how to access key: up a set of stairs to a lockbox, enter code, press buttons, take single key to street-level door, down 4 steps with no handrail to floor level. So, hard for older persons with mobility problems. Also, having only one key for 4 individuals very problematic. These potential issues need to be mentioned to would-be renters. Our stay was marred by a water leak from the apartment above us, which damaged our property and disrupted our vacation. The hosts twice assured us via emails with "reply" links that led nowhere that we would be compensated for the disruption. Nothing has come of this promise, and neither we nor VRBO has been able to make any contact with the hosts. So, this property's living quarters are quite satisfactory, but accessing them is a challenge, and discussing any issues that may arise during or after staying there appears simply not to be possible. Given our group's experience I believe my rating is more than generous. I urge the hosts to rectify the deficiencies mentioned. It would enhance the pleasure of staying there immeasurably.

Convenient Location
Dana and Danielle were very responsive and helpful. They made good recommendations and provided great information about Amsterdam. The location was perfect and close to everything. We found the bedroom that faces the street to be noisy from street noise and people above. You can also smell smoke in the apartment from people sitting in front of your door smoking. The unit is well maintained but is starting to show its age. Overall an OK stay for a few nights.

Great location
A comfortable flat in a great location. We walked everywhere and only took the tram to and from the station. We slept well with ear plugs and eye masks (there’s a little street noise in the front bedroom and the curtains let in a lot of light). The towels were very small. A good base from which to explore lovely Amsterdam.

Great Place
This was a perfect place to stay in Amsterdam. Close to the canals, anne frank house and flagship amsterdam canal ride stop, bike rental, food hallen, 9 streets, small supermarket, museumplein, and the tram. The below street place itself fit our needs, with two bedrooms (one in front with upper window and one in the back with no window). Daan and Danielle gave great tips, and we did our own research as well to take advantage of the location.

Great Location!
Our family of four (two teens) loved this spot for our week long visit to Amsterdam. The owners were great and quick to respond to our questions and this was the perfect location from which to explore the city,. We easily walked from here to all of our destinations. The kitchenette was nice with the coffeemaker and mini fridge to hold all our snacks (without the pressure to cook anything, haha). The weather was cold, and a little rainy, but we still had a marvelous time and this apartment was a great warm and cozy retreat at the end of the day.

Comfortable and quiet home on Charming Cobblestone Canal Street
Very friendly and supportive owners host this two bedroom home sandwiched a short walk between the museums and downtown shopping and sights. Great restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops are all within 15 minutes or less by walk or Uber. The home sits on a cobblestone street overlooking a canal in a lovely quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from Anne Frank’s home (for location reference). Try Kafenion Amsterdam just one block away to start your morning. We will be back!

The owners responded quickly any time I had a question. They provided plenty of helpful tips and information. The check in and check out process was very easy. The apartment was in a great and quiet location. It was perfect for two couples. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms still allowed us to have privacy. There is only one TV in the apartment. I would have liked a second TV, either in the common area or the second bedroom, but not a big deal. It was clean. One of the bathrooms could use a coat of paint on the ceiling. We have a excellent visit and would recommend this location to others.

Beautiful spot in Amsterdam
We absolutely loved our stay. The apartment is nicely decorated and very clean. It is perfect for 2 groups of people - each bedroom has its own bathroom en suite. The location is hard to beat - right on the canal, easy to walk to city center, museum row, and near so many amazing restaurants. The host was very communicative and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend staying here.

Host was partying in unit with other people when we arrived. We arrived after 24 hours of travel. They were a little drunk. Shower didn't work in 1 bathroom. Steep stairs for Seniors to go down into unit. Did not realize there was no microwave or stove and extremely slow wifi. Only 1 person could be on internet at time and it was still slow.

Hi Gisele, I am very sad and sorry to read your review. You arrived on a national holliday 'Kingsday'. The whole city is one large party and completely crowded. The host you refer to was actually the cleaning team and due to events in the city they expected you to arrive a lot later. Ofcourse we would have never approved such a welcome and completely condemn what has happened. Our sincere apologies for that! In regards to the Wi-Fi and the shower. I would have loved to have resolved the issues right away and I asked you after the first night in the apartment if everything was up to your liking and you said that everything was great!. I would like to mention that we have the most expensive and strongest wifi that is avalaible and even a company that focusses on Wi-Fi maintenance. I was explained that there was a technical malfunction in the modem due to which you were switched to the upstais wifi amplifier. Again I am very very sorry to hear that this affected your stay and I would have wished you would have told me right away. If you ever want to return to Amsterdam I would love to host you and your family and make sure you have a 5* plus experience! Kind regards and best of health, Daan & Danielle

Great location - odd apartment
The location of this property was astounding! The place itself - eh. Two beds. Two baths. Very odd shaped common area that reminded me of a hostel than an apartment. There is only a small kitchenette with no microwave, no laundry, no dishwasher, and no appliances except a small refrigerator. The toilets were temperamental - making loud noises even when not in use. For an inexpensive, bare bones place to stay in the heart of Amsterdam, it was good... but I probably would have preferred a nice hotel instead.

This property is an ideal location for any visitor. We were able to walk EVERYWHERE. It seemed like everywhere we wanted to go was within a 20min walk from the property. It was clean, and a nice spot for a small group to make home-base while in Amsterdam. The hosts are very easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed.

Perfect place in a great location
I stayed in the apartment for 4 nights with my mum and sisters to celebrate various birthdays (ages late 40s to early 70s) It was a great experience from start to finish, and the apartment actually exceeded my expectations. The living area is larger than I'd thought and was ample for 4 adults - we hung out a lot inside rather than out because of this. Description of bedrooms also accurate. Beds were comfy, sound from the road wasn't an issue. Location is absolutely spot on - local cafes, bars, restaurants within minutes' walk and everywhere is max 25 minutes walk away. We didn't bother with public transport apart from a canal boat once - because it's such a lovely place for walking. We had a hot water failure that was put right within hours - on a Sunday - and at minimum disruption to us. Daan was fantastic at dealing with this immediately and letting us know what was happening. There are plenty of guide books/walking books in the apartment that we made full use of and that were a great help as we arrived with minimum pre-planning! So, 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10. I thoroughly recommend the apartment and won't think of staying anywhere else when I visit Amsterdam next.

This property was great! Myself, my husband and our son who is studying in the Netherlands all stayed here for two nights. We loved the location - so accessible to transportation and walking around the neighborhood was wonderful too - lot's of shops nearby and places to eat. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchenette was perfect for our group size. We definitely would recommend!

Walk everywhere, classically beautiful Amsterdam neighbourhood. Please note the kitchen facilities are limited and there is no lounge. This suited us fine, but not for everyone. Daan was very attentive and dealt quickly with the few small issues we had.

This place has a great location. However if your family likes to have vacations enjoying the city and the apartment with your kids (Playing board games, watching a movie, cook something fast) then this might not be the best place for you. It has no living room and the kitchen consists of a sink and an electric teapot, and fridge. If you are looking for a place to sleep and shower then this works just fine.

Dear guest, sorry to hear that there was not enough equipment. Unfortunately it is not allowed in Amsterdam to have a kitchen in a B&B. Therefore there is only a kitchenette available in this place, which is explicitly noted in our description.
