This chalet is in a wonderful location - quiet, offers wonderful views, and is close to both Anchorage and Seward. There are many Alaskan adventures in Girdwood, and nearby. We cannot have selected a better location.It looks a bit more comfortable and updated than it is from the pictures online. Furniture is outdated and not terribly comfortable. Kitchen only provides the very basics and you will need to shop for absolutely everything you need to prepare meals, we are used to more common condiments and cooking essentials being provided than just salt and pepper. One of the reasons we selected the chalet was due to the hot tub. We only had a short stay in. The hot tub was not working, the water was nearly gone and and when we called to inquire about it, we were asked to do the troubleshooting and fixing, that’s something we want to spend our time on during our brief vacation. They did send someone out to fix it finally, but it wasn’t ready to be used until the morning we left, which was too late. Note - google takes you to the wrong address and you will likely have to contact them for directions once you are close. In summary, you can’t beat the location of the chalet, but we found the comfort and amenities to be oversold and just average.

Needs update and deep cleaning

Home is very dated and in need of a deep cleaning and basic repairs. Stairs are unsafe, no window covering in top floor bedroom. All bedrooms need blackout curtains. No closets or dressers in bedrooms.

Great Place With Hot Tub

My parents and I had a lovely stay at this property. It is fully equipped with everything you may need and we enjoyed unwinding in the hot tub. Customer service is prompt, check-in was easy, and the place was extremely tidy.

Generally ok. Old and needs updating. Dust in fan and heating areas. Master bathroom shower door rails were disgusting.Body wash in Master bedroom did not work. I asked the owner to provide replacement several times and nothing was done. Annoying.Also kind of annoying to have to strip the beds and take trash to a place 1/2 mile away. House cleaners should do that.Taking the pillow covers off I saw that the pillows were disgusting and stained. All pillows and comforters need to be replaced.

Very nice house is a beautiful setting.

This house is located just a short walk from the ski resort and a short drive from the local stores. We had a very enjoyable time. I would like to have given 5 stars, but for me, 5 stars means that I can't think of anything that was not as it should be. The only issue is that the lower level restroom had a bad smell. It was not overpowering, but noticable. A minor issue is the lack of dessert spoons. We had to keep washing spoons that we had just used. Apart from that, we loved the place and the hot tub was great.A f

Funky Fun Place

This is an older cabin and has its quirks, however it is spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well supplied. It's an easy walk to Girdwood Brewing or the Alyeska resort. Would definitely stay again.

Had a VRBO in Homer Ak for fishing there. Came back closer to Anchorage . To go fishing and glacier sight seeing .

nice getaway

Great property. Pictures are accurate, hot tub was nice after kids went to bed! Great views, good space.... Foosball table was a hit with the kids. My one complaint is that the beds were highly uncomfortable and SUPER SUPER loud. It was be helpful to stock a can opener and cutting board ( perhaps we just couldn't find them). Girdwood is a great place to get away and relax! I would recommend this property.

There were only a few windows with curtains in the house. The ones in the house were worthless. It is summer months with lots of light. Many windows in the home. Needs more and better curtains. Many spiders downstairs. The loft is super noisy. If others are staying with you, you cannot sleep up there with anyone downstairs. Very open.

The chalet and the location are excellent. Its large and has a good feel to it. Its also nice and warm. Its an older Chalet and there were some small things that need fixing, but given the price you can't really complain. Its more annoying as it would probably only cost $100 to make the place perfect... The things that need fixing: - No plug for a number of the sinks including the kitchen sink - No tap on upstairs bath (it has been removed). - Only three plastic wine glasses provided (one badly warped). We bought some glass wine glasses for $5! - Hot tub broke and communications were not great about getting it fixed. They did refund us for this. - One of the lamps was broken

Run Down and Unclean

The place is rundown, built in the 70's or 80's and hasn't been touched since. Lots of little broken things, place is filthy and the entire property needs to be scrubbed clean for a couple days. Everything is OLD. Thought I was going to fall through the shower tub floor it's so rickety. Feels like going back in time 40 years, and about the same feeling for how long it's been since it was cleaned. If you want a place to stay with a group of friends to enjoy the resort, it's a fine place. Definitely not somewhere to stay for any length of time and be enjoyable. Oh yea, blinds would be nice. The downstairs bathroom has a full length window right to the road, from the toilet! The place is basically all windows, good luck sleeping in with daytime light and no blinds. Dishes were dirty, there was gross years old hair clogging the tub drain, the list goes on.

Perfect spot!

When we arrived we found everything as described. Instructions and directions were text to us early. Then they asked if everything was satisfactory once we checked in. I text the staff and they responded immediately. We ran out of propane and asked if there was any on the property. There was not, but they were on top of it and had it here asap. The hottub was amazing and the heaters all worked. The kids and adults loved the foosball table. We loved all the windows and the beautiful view. Make sure to take the short hike up to the waterfall. You won’t be disappointed. I was trying to think of a downfall, but our only complaint was the grill was not cleaned before us and was moldy. (It’s clean now. We made sure) The downstairs bathroom could use a curtain. Not a complaint, just an observation. Thank you for fun wonderful memories.
