truly unique, tranquil, adventurous experience

With tidal waters under this unique house on stilts, you can see a variety of crabs, harbor seals, harbor porpoise, sea otters, water fowl, an occasional boat, and have an easy kayak launch from the private beach to the State Park (island) or just around the Sound. More amenities than what the list included (hairdryer was available, good amount of dishes and cookware). May want bottled water to drink over the tap water. Upstairs sleeping is unusual, but still comfortable.

House in the water

Our trip could not have been any better the view out the windows is fantastic the house was very clean And very comfortable. While having my 1st cup of coffee in the morning we observed a whole group of seals sunning in the rocks across the way on a small island. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and there was plenty of Towels in the bathroom. You will need to read the welcome book for tips on some of the things at the house. You will need to bring your own drinking water because the water is not very tasty but other than that we love the house and love being there

Quaint and charming

Loved this charming home. The views are epic. I didn’t want to leave. Very well appointed. Adorable kitchen stocked with everything you need. Awesome decks. Heated bathroom floors. Watch seals all day long. The island does only offer one restaurant- so bring your supplies or shop at the local well stocked small grocery. I hope to return to this really lovely home. Pretty sure it is the only one on the island that sits so close on top is the water - and yes - as another reviewer notes you could be surrounded by water in no time at the change of the tide. Such a private location. My friend and I paddleboarded the beaches surrounding this property and property and it was awesome. It is decorated to perfection and amazingly comfortable. I only offer one item to be improved upon : please add more stem ware. There were only two wine glasses present. Otherwise. Perfect.

Serene & Beautiful Oasis

We stayed 2 nights here and were mesmerized by the location of the house on the beach and over the water when the tides come and go. So fun and relaxing to watch the seals and calm waters in the morning around the house and wildlife activity around Eagle Island Marine State Park just across bay. The house kitchen is newly remodeled and well equipped with nice bathroom and bedroom on the main floor. The upstairs beds are low but comfortable enough for sleeping. Sunsets are beautiful! Check-in easy and the hosts very helpful. Our family had a great time, enjoyed exploring Anderson Island and look forward to staying again! Perfect summer getaway!

Wonderful relaxing getaway!

Charming home sitting right on the water. At high tide the water flows right underneath you and at low tide plenty of beach combing awaits. We spent hours on end just watching the marine life around us, most notably all the seals that are either playing in the water or snoozing on the shores of Eagle Island. The house itself was clean, cozy, and well appointed. Made some great memories with the kids...thanks!

Peaceful retreat

We had a great stay; it was peaceful with absolutely beautiful views. The place was clean and well stocked. A couple of things I’d like done to make it better: a Blu-ray player, not just a DVD player. We brought videos to watch but couldn’t watch several of them because they were Blu-ray. And it would be nice if there was a fan for the bedroom. It got kind of hot in there and didn’t feel comfortable leaving the sliding door open. But other then that, it was perfect. We hope to go again in the future.

Beautiful view but house not clean

This is a beach house that is fairly well-appointed. The view is gorgeous, very quiet except for occasional noise from neighbors. Now the bad part: the house was not clean. We arrived late at 10pm due to ferry traffic, and were hoping to cook something quickly and go to sleep. However, all the flatware and dishes were dirty, some encrusted with food. We had to wash everything before cooking. The stove top was grimy, toilet paper rolls stained with dirt, toilet stained brown (we hoped from sitting water during periods of no occupation), and the coffee pot had old grounds in it with mold growing on top. In many years of vacation rentals, we've never experienced anything like this level of unsanitary preparation, and in the time of Covid, we were left to wonder about everything else. It was also discouraging that no lights were left on by the front door, so we had to get a flashlight from our car to see how to get in, and there were no obvious instructions for operating the heat or remote controlled lighting. The master bedroom had minimal coverings and no extra blankets, and we were disturbed at night by a loud water filtration system becoming active at 1:00 in the morning. Once we cleaned, explored, and played with the systems for a while we were okay, but while the view was lovely, we won't be returning. Our contact person offered to come the next day to clean and to refund the cleaning charge, but frankly, we thought the response inadequate. We tried further contact as we kept finding more issues, but were met with silence. All in all, for the price we expected better.
