「Lovely room. Was leaving at 5am for a charity event so missed breakfast. They packed us one up to take away.」

The service was excellent and the location was superb with views over the lake from all our rooms. All our friends thought the hotel was a perfect venue for our weekend celebration. 「Nice staff. We were walking the Pennine Way and got there at about 6.20pm. Were told last orders for food was 7pm so mad rush to get in a fit state to eat! Food was very nice. Rooms nice. Would recommend. 」

「Clean comfortable and very quiet. Not noticeably busy at all. Rather dated interior & no food served at the hotel. No breakfast lunches or evening meals despite notices outside saying hotel has a restaurant. It doesn’t. Nevertheless it offers reasonable comfortable sleeping accommodation and there are cafe’s & restaurants within a short distance. 」

「We enjoyed many facets of our stay at the Lister Arms in early May. The sights and walks are stupendous--there are steep walks and near flat walks along the river and some through stone walled grass fields with lots of sheep. The food at the Lister was excellent and we had meals in the morning, midday and evening. Great selection of real ales. Very attentive and engaging staff. 」

「The stay was lovely. Staff were very helpful on arrival and it was very easy to check in. Only downside was I wish there was an option for a breakfast in the morning. However there was plenty of other options across the road.」

「We had a 3 night stay here. The room we stayed in had a table with a basket of teas, instant coffee and cookies. They leave a half pint free voucher. The inn was in a great location, less than 10 minutes walk to the train station. We had dinner on Sunday night, the roast beef dinner was very good. The room was on the smaller size, not a lot of space for 2 people. The bathroom was very small, the rain head shower was not the best for the small space. The room was clean. 「We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Calf’s Head, Clitheroe. We attended a wedding at a venue not far from here, so it was a great location for us. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the downstairs bar/dining was an asset to our stay. We both enjoyed a lovely full English the morning after with the option of fruit, cereals and yoghurts. The outdoor space here is gorgeous so would definitely recommend going here to enjoy it on a nice day. The only criticism I can give is that the...
