“Overall, it is a nice hotel but we had some challenges with the amenities. It offered A/C which was a rare treat, but it only worked in one of the two rooms. We were excited to see ice machines, but couldn’t find one that worked. The tvs only got 7 channels and we had to call the office to get the room next to us to quiet down after being repeatedly woken up. The food and and drink at the restaurant were good and the place was clean and people friendly, but we were disappointed.”

“It was my understanding, from the ads, that the property had a washer dryer. It did not. I was told after we vacated, there was a washing machine out in the green shed !!!! The milk provided was curdled and not fit for consumption.”

“Booked for a quick trip over to Ireland to visit a relative who lives nearby so the hotel was well located for what we were looking for. The hotel is set in landscaped grounds and is impressive when you drive in. Reception is nice and the staff most helpful. The rooms are large (executive twin) with a large single beds and sizeable bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. Robes and slippers are a nice touch. The fixtures are a little dated but worked fine, furniture is quite badly scuffed……

“We had a wonderful stay at Castleknock Hotel. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the room was clean and well-kept, and the overall facilities (including the dining options and leisure areas) were very good. Breakfast was enjoyable and the location worked well for us.The only disappointment was the view from our room — it overlooked the trash receptacles outside. It was a bit of an eyesore when we looked out the window. Everything else about the stay was excellent, and that was truly the……

“We have stayed at Clontarf Castle several times, usually the day or two before we fly home to the USA, since it is near the Dublin airport. The Clontarf neighborhood is a lovely part of Dublin, with good transit downtown. It is also near many interesting places that are within about an hour's drive or less north of Dublin, such as Malahide Castle and town, the Newgrange prehistoric passage tombs (get tickets in advance), and the Monasterboices monastic site with its famous high crosses. ……
