The space
The entire home is 7 years new, and the rental space was designed to be a completely private residence with no shared spaces. The property was imagined in a French country style, with thoughtful touches throughout. Built directly into a hillside on 2 acres, the property is home to deer, foxes, owls, and more. The home is really two properties in one, with the VRBO on ground level, and the homeowner's residence above. Both residences are 100% private with physical separation and privacy in every way. Often, you'll awake in the morning with deer as close as 10 feet away from your balcony. Sunrises are beautiful from the front of the property, and sunsets are stunning almost nightly from the back balcony.

Over 400 wineries within 20 minutes in all directions. The space has a 6-bottle wine refrigerator to keep your wine purchases at the perfect controlled temperature. While the space feels far from civilization, it is a 1 minute drive to Highway 101 or downtown Atascadero. Being so close to 101 does entail some subtle freeway noise echoing up the hillside, but it's not that noticeable (and undetectable with windows closed).

From 101, it's a windy road for one short minute to Z Ranch. When you arrive, there is a parking space for you just in front of the 1-car garage. Proceed through the balcony gate with the Welcome sign to your own private entrance. Self check-in via lock box makes your check-in easy with no friction.

Other things to note
We do enjoy the peacefulness and serenity of the property, and hope you will as well. Our house rules do suggest some limits on visitors, as the space isn't designed with that in mind. If you're seeking a luxurious but serene getaway, this is definitely your place. If you're super social and looking for a place where you can invite friends over without limitation, then this is probably not the right fit for you. Because we also live on the property, we are here to answer any questions you may have, and are super quick to address virtually any issue or concern you may have. At the same time, we value your privacy, so you may not even be aware of our presence. Note also that the manicured portion of the exterior property (visible from the VRBO kitchen windows) is not a shared space, although you do have your own private balcony with a sliding glass door, and incredible views.
