Great breakfast options to choose from in the lobby cafe, not free but very reasonably priced. Bar staff, and especially the bar manager were very friendly and provided service above and beyond. Room with a balcony overlooking the lake was lovely. We will definitely be back.

AMAZINGGGGG! I went to celebrate my birthday and I could not have had a better time. The staff was amazing from my entry to check in, until check out. Everyone was kind, cordial and willing to help me. I will certainly make it routine practice to incorporate this hotel into my self care! I visited this time for my birthday and have been with them before for my birthday. I just might make them my host hotel for every birthday. I truly enjoyed myself and commend the staff for their high quality hospitality.

From the time we check in, to the time we check out, the Merriweather Lakehouse was nothing short of amazing. Izabella greeted us with a warm smile and was helpful in every aspect of our check in. When I mentioned I was there because I was getting married the next day, she extended warm wishes and presented me with a nice welcoming gift! I had several family members who flew in on the day of my wedding. The director of guest services and Jermaine offered my family an are in the hotel where they could change and freshen up! That's top tier customer service and it was greatly appreciated. Jermaine was very pleasant and continuously asked me if there was anything else he could do to help us out during the check out process. He definitely was there to help make things go smooth for me that day! If you are ever in the Columbia area and need a hotel who is going to care about the customer, do yourself a favor and stay here!!!

Overall the property is solid. The front desk staff were helpful, although I wanted to update my room, it was a bit tough to get them to assist. The bartenders were great. The cafe was super limiting in its options. I drink decaf coffee. They only had drip, and they did not have any alternative milk options, which is not very common. We had breakfast the day of checkout. Sadly, the crab I ordered to be added to my omelet was spoiled. It smelled of ammonia, which is surprising coming from a property like this. The view of the lake was splendid though and the rooms were nice. The AC did sound like an airplane tho :)
