Power be damned

Room is a very old non standard footprint but the biggest issue was power, old control panel kept losing power so had daily maintenance repair crews. Hotel was also really old but still needs to have working lights and plugs.

The only criticism is the traffic noise. We had a junior suite at the front of the hotel and there is a lot of noise.

Cons: The hotel management failed to maintain the building and upkeep the property. There was too much water damage on the ceiling from the past rainy season; the room had missing light fixtures, which makes you wonder if there was a hidden camera, and the shower doors won't close, which are a few that come to my mind. Ah, not to mention, right next to the elevator, there were dried red stains on the carpet and column, which I couldn't tell if the source was a meal or blood that caused them. Also, I booked a Double Room with the expectation of two separate rooms but ended up with a single room. According to the hotel manager, "Double Room" means maximum room capacity. Pros: Despite all the cons above, the hotel staff was friendly, and the hotel was located in the city's center. Conclusion: I would NOT stay at this hotel again unless they go through a significant renovation and come up with a better room description.

The ambience of the hotel is good but due to aging the facilities tend to wear out . If you are the choosy type of person do consider your pick . Else likely you will complaint a lot during your stay . Overall experience average just abit of hiccups the first night due aircon failed .

The hotel is beautiful, an art deco gem. The rooms are a little run down - at least the one I was in felt that way and it was very noisy in the morning. I was also surprised that the restaurant and cafe were unable to provide a vegetarian meal beyond a mixed salad .. surely it's not that unusual these days. The staff were sweet and helpful but not that well informed for tourism, the area is interesting and more lively at night.

The hotel is very centrally located and you can walk to many cafes and restaurants. The service was always friendly and the staff very helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel is very outdated and is in desperate need of renovation. Some rooms are obviously already being renovated as well.

Really bad hotel. Old en dirty! I would not recommend this to anyone. We had a deluxe room that was terrible. After a lot of trouble we get an upgrade by the manager wich was good. First one who appologized. The new room was better. So if you want to stay here book above deluxe room. The staff in the morning was much better. Overall I would not stay here again.

Needs a lot of work

Old and tired hotel. The bed is very uncomfortable and the view is a scary looking parking lot. The swimming pool is located above a car park, water is cold and a made up gym on its side. Shower area old and dirty. The room is old with ants! The hotel lobby is small and unwelcoming design of chaos. The good thing about this hotel is the photogenic dining room (dusty tree decorations) and the staff. Otherwise I can’t wait to check out feeling was with me for two nights.

Historical hotel

Finally had a chance to stayed at this historical hotel. Check in was a bit slow. There's a wedding reception at that time. Room a bit old decor but it's as expected. Shower water is weak and bathroom need renovation. There's renovation in progress in the middle of hotel likely for breakfast area. We took the breakfast in one of the ballroom. Variety menu and breakfast taste was good! Pool was nice as well

Historical charm, could use some attention

Nice ambience. The room was spacious and location was great. The Art Deco touches were cool, and the historical displays very interesting. The buffet breakfast was very extensive, with an omelet station. However most of the dishes were not hot. One of the towels was stained and the pool was a little cool to swim laps in the morning. Overall a good stay.
