Paynes Bay Barbados Polo Club Hotels

"We stayed in a standard room - King bed for 7 nights while staying in Barbados for the Australia V West Indies test cricket. We loved our accommodation. Our room was on the second floor overlooking one of the pools plus we had beach views. It was modern and clean. The hotel arranged a shuttle for all guests going to and from the cricket each day. This was fabulous! Earl and Dave (our drivers) were both legends. The shuttle cost 20 BBD pp. I loved that we had an actual laundry - not an expensive laundry service - (but instead a shared washing machine and dryer on our floor) that we could use without payment. We used it several times - there's a clothes rack in the room for drying clothes on your balcony. The kitchenette was well equipped - a decent sized fridge and freezer (which was great for freezing waters for each day at the cricket), toaster, kettle, coffee machine (no instructions for how to work it though) crockery and glassware. The room was spacious, and the balcony was perfect after a long hot day at the cricket. Local buses (we only used the yellow ones) are literally at your doorstep for only $3.50 BBD pp in each direction (no matter where you get off). We caught them regularly to check out Bridgetown, Holetown...A taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost around $70USD from memory - what I loved was the fixed pricing chart at the airport. The hotel has an awesome bar on site and a little store. Although, for groceries just take a local bus to the supermarket. "

"If you are trying to decide between the Marriott properties- this is definitely the best (more to open soon though). The beach is beautiful and there is great snorkeling if you follow the rope on the left side over the reef. We stayed in a split ocean view - incredible view. The adults pool is beautifully landscaped and feels very special (even had monkey activity). The staff is the best part of the stay - they genuinely want your stay to be top notch- shout out to Ether, Astrid, Tamisha and Raquel…book this hotel now - you will not regret it!"

A special mention goes to Pat for the incredible omelets and conversation each morning, and to Kwesi for always making sure we had everything we needed by the pool. The staff truly made us feel at home—like part of the family. We absolutely loved our time here and are already looking forward to coming back!"

"Great size villa, good bedrooms which were on the beach side with bathrooms on the road-side, which is quite close. However two of the bedrooms have open louvre windows which allow noise in - would be far better if these were glazed over, as not needed for ventilation with the a/c. Outside space is good with direct access to the beach which is small but very quiet. Didn’t use the small pool much.Kitchen had supplies of oil, salt, sugar, coffee etc which is great, Didn’t feel we needed the daily housekeeper service-every 2-3 days would be fine.Easy walk to QP Bistro and the Roti Den. de Clay Pot is opposite- we enjoyed hearing the live music a couple of evenings (ends earlier so no issues with sleeping). Short drive into Holetown or beyond. Fish market is next door but that’s no issue.Felt very safe and secure. Great choice! "

"The property was fantastic very spacious plenty of room to move about, the property had everything we needed it was very clean when we arrived our host was already waiting for us and explained everything thoroughly. . The location was just right 3 minutes walk to Paynes Bay west coast. The Supermarket, Petrol station and other shops were just a driving distance. We could freely move around to different beaches beacuse of our location "

"Couldn’t be closer to the beach! Hosts very helpful and accommodating! Only downside was finding the apartment initially as the sign was missing. The real seller was the included beach beds they set up for us every day.Came home and immediately booked to return next year.. "
