Very nice overall

The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and for the standard room I had, complete with all the amenities including safe and mini fridge, i am glad i didnt get an exec room as this was perfectly acceptable. Really liked it here Downsides, the mattress was a little hard for my comfort and i had back ache. Also didnt like the AC heating as it really dried the air out in the room

Ok for a night, no more and not again.

Looks old and feels old. There for 2 nights. Breakfast finishing at 9am, heating not working, door wouldn’t lock and the movie service wasn’t working. Bed is hard as well. All in all, not going back.

Coping well with the rules

The staff, coping with all the virus limitations, were always friendly, hard-working and considerate. They couldn’t stop the hotel looking rather bald, and obsessed with hand sanitizer. We wanted the hotel to succeed, which it deserved.

The room was spacious and well decorated but not very clean. There were lots of hairs in the shower, the bed sheets had various stains and the carpet hadn't been hoovered. There is a main road out the front of the hotel so as our room was on the front it was quite noisy with traffic sounds. The restaurant is very overpriced and food is not good quality or true to description. Restaurant staff were also rude and unfriendly. The breakfast was expensive but very nice and staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception staff also friendly.

Very nice clean hotel, the only downfall is your breakfast is never hot, only just warm. If it wasn't for this this hotel would be outstanding!!

Let down.

I wasn’t impressed. Booked 3 rooms for 7 of us. One room smelled mouldy and there was pubic hair left in the bathroom. We changed rooms. The sofa bed wasn’t ready in one of the rooms. The heating is an oil heater and takes ages to kick in. We had the manager come down to take a look and he had to find out why it didn’t work straight away. Surely he should have known. At £109 a night for each room I expected more. Breakfast was also just not great. I’ve stayed in 18 hotels over the last year priced between £90 and £250 a night. This wasn’t on par with any of them.

Friendly helpful staff, breakfast listed as award winner but most of it is kept warm so the eggs go to rubber and the rest is only warm not hot ! Would be better made to order. Couldn’t fault the food or service in the bar
