We were in Northumberland for 5 days, Belford was an ideal base, a quiet town with a great bus service. The Counting House was really comfortable and I would definitely recommend it.

Firstly, Belford itself is a delight and a perfect base for exploring all of the interesting surrounding areas.
The property was so easy to live in, all you could want, an incredibly comfortable bed, and everything in perfect working order.
Jacqui (owner) was really welcoming and helpful: all in all, a deserved 5 star review.

Lovely, clean property. Great central location for visiting other areas. There was a regular bus service through the village and a co-op. Check before you go to the pubs or hotel for food, they either dont do it, or it's only served on certain days or times. Don't presume their websites are up to date. The chip shop is nice, but very busy.

Just returned from a week staying at the Counting House and I can not praise it enough.
Arrived at the accommodation and Jacque the host had left a basket with lots of goodies in it , tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, jam, honey and milk in the fridge.
Also a lovely touch was fresh flowers on the dining table.
Property was spotless and very spacious.
It felt like being at home, kitchen had everything you could need.
Communication was excellent
Lovely pub opposite the house which did excellent meals and staff and customers where very friendly and welcoming.

The Counting House had everything we (family of 4) were looking for - enough space for everyone, clean, well equipped and some lovely personal touches. The location on the Market Square in Belford was perfect for the 20m sprint to the Black Swan and the only slightly longer trip to the Coop. Despite this we can't confirm the mentions of traffic noise in some reviews - the occasional bus really doesn't count in our book! Belford itself is also a great base both for the coast and inland. All in all a 5* location - thanks!

Property was clean, spacious and well maintained. The location was perfect for seeing the local sights ( Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and local Beaches. Good communication from the local owner who left a lovely selection of local treats in our selection pack. We would return to this property if returning to Northumberland in the future.

Everything you need from holiday accommodation, very clean & quite. A garden would have been a plus but the pubs in the village have beer gardens. Ideally situated for everything Northumberland has to offer.

My wife and I stayed at the counting house (No 2) for the Jubilee weekend. The apartment was spotless and we had everything we needed. It was like a home from home. The location was ideal for visiting all the beautiful hotspots along the North East Coast.
Belford itself was very nice and you have 3 x pubs to choose from. I would thoroughly recommend this property.
