Diamond Island Resort & Penguin viewing

Diamond Island Resort & Penguin viewing

10/10 Excellent
"A wonderful resort for an overnight stay that provides high quality accommodation and a convenient private access to Diamond Island and exclusive viewing of little blue penguins that are resident of the property; this property is an ideal place for couples, families and lone travellers to relax, rejuvenate and revitalise after long scenic drives and sightseeing activities in the eastern side of Tassie. The beachfront one-bedroom apartment unit we booked is spacious, clean and modern equipped with a full kitchen and a jetted tub in the bathroom upstairs. The whole resort complex is very tidy. The premium price we paid for this property equated with the convenience, luxury and excellent customer service we received from check-in to check-out. Go for this resort-style accommodation if you have some extra cash to splurge!"

Beachfront At Bicheno

Beachfront At Bicheno

8/10 Good
"We had a sea view twin. Room was small. The hotel has a house rule of no toasters but does have a guest kitchen with toaster, microwave and sandwich maker. The room only has cups. So if you go to the guest kitchen and cook some toast or food you have to stand in the guest kitchen to eat. As the house kitchen rules are you can not remove any item from the kitchen (that would include the plates bowls etc). It would be far better and more convenient for guests to include a toaster and small plates and bowls. One other negative is the unsupervised children running all over the front lawn. As the hotel adjoins a pub. We stayed on a Wednesday night and the children were playing until 9pm so I’m guessing Friday and Saturday nights would be worse. They were playing directly in front of the unit and calling out to guests in the hotel. Which made it difficult to sit outside to quietly enjoy the sea view. The pub next door has a bistro. We didn’t eat there."
