Great location in lovely village

Whimbrel Cottage is ideally located in the heart of Appledore, a lovely seaside town. Restaurants, galleries, coffee shops and pubs are literally within a few steps of the cottage. Coastal walks are easily accessed. This is a charming old fisherman’s cottage with ceilings in some areas that are quite low by modern standards so mind your head. The bedroom is comfortable, bright and spacious. The bathroom is clean and there is plenty of hot water for showers. The kitchen is bright and well equipped. We found the lounge area a little dark and musty. We were disappointed that the dampness caused by flooding was not disclosed even though efforts were made to use scented air fresheners and a dehumidifier. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon. Over our 5 nights we generally found it more comfortable to read up stairs in the bedroom.

Lovely autumnal break

Appledore is a charming place and Whimbrel Cottage offers a haven within it. Cosy, clean and comfortable, a wonderful place to relax and recharge.
