“Hotel North was a comfortable and convenient place to stay before taking the ferry. Its location is excellent, just a short drive from the ferry terminal, making it a very practical choice for travelers. The room was clean, comfortable, and everything else met our expectations. The only issue we experienced was that the hair dryer in our room wasn't working. We didn't have enough time to contact the front desk and have it replaced, so it would be helpful if these small items were checked……

“What a nice surprise. My coworker and I had decided at the very last minute to stay in Cape Breton. There was very limited availability anywhere and, withour much research. we decided to stay here. This gem was a highlight of our whole trip. We really enjoyed the dinner experience. 7 courses of pure love! Lex and Hogle were most pleasant to talk to and are assets to this hotel. “The spacious accommodation included an air conditioner in the sitting room and fan in the bedroom. The bed was soft but cozy. The included breakfast was served with pride from Cheryl who is an excellent cook who truly cares about her guests. Fruit cup began the breakfast of pancakes, tasty individual egg casseroles, home spun honey, home made maple syrup, jam, and self served coffee. If staying in the area again Chamber would be our top choice.”

“Good budget room for one night. We were in one of the 4 units at the very top of the hill. Think other units may have been redone but this one definitely has not been. It was dated however was clean. Biggest problem with this hotel is lack of eating options nearby. Fitzgerald restaurant is closed and the other café has very limited hours that they are open. If you want to eat take out it is 15 minutes away and a proper meal is about 30 minutes away. All in all it was okay but not a place we……

“Spacious & very clean room. Unfortunately the bathroom ventilation is poor resulting in the smoke detector being triggered when the bathroom door is opened after taking a shower. Breakfast costs extra. Parking costs extra. The breakfast ladies were amazing.”

“I would not recommend. It is very very dated. Our room with 2 double bed with one only having a mattress protector, no sheets. The only exit or entrance seemed to be at the far end of hallway . The oder in the hallway has a very musty smell. I've stayed at several motels with the West Western name attached to it and this particular one is in no way what I would expect from West Western ..”

“The owner\hostess was rude and obsequious. She has a footwear issue…..and offered used slippers as an alternative. The physical plant was fine. This is not a hotel….it is her and her yapping dogs home. I don’t pay $300 for a lecture.”

“Paul was very welcoming and accommodating, made us sandwich plates since the restaurant was not technically open that day. They have pet friendly facilities which is great. The grounds and trails to the shore were fun as well. We had spent 2 days on the go and we were able to actually unwind. Our unit had no tv and we did not miss it at all. 9/10 would recommend!”
