"We absolutely loved our stay!! The room was beautiful, the onsens are incredible, the buffet breakfast was delicious and the service was fantastic! We stayed 2 nights, which I highly recommend to experience the hotel and Hakone properly. The only thing we didn’t love was the Kaiseki dinner - the food quality didn’t seem to be quite up to standard compared to everything else we ate at the hotel and seafood was already on the table when we arrived (it was even sitting out already for the next seating in 2 hours), which was a little off putting. "

"Beautiful, classically decorated interior spaces and my room looked at an area of forest covered mountain. Breakfast was lovely with a nice mix of Japanese and western selections (and a beautifully decorated cappuccino). Staff was incredibly friendly at check-in and check out. Room was clean and elegantly appointed. The bathroom was unbelievable Overhead rain shower and a soaking bath. Immaculate tiles. Main drawback is that the hotel is situated at the end of a fairly poor street in an urban area without any access to green space (the mountain behind the property is quite steep and without any walking area). "

"friendly helpful staff, luxurious onsen, comfortable beds in a spacious room, great location for exploring Hakone, games and toys for kids, lots of books in various languages for readers of all ages, delicious snacks and sweets, generous open-bar happy hour(s), and an excellent, excellent breakfast —I travel fairly often, and Hakone Yutowa really was one of the very best hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. My only suggestion is that they might consider adding a fitness room. "

"We stayed here after climbing Mt Fuji and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was nice. We were bummed out that the onsen is a public onsen and we ended up not using it because I was traveling with kids who were uncomfortable with it. Otherwise gorgeous hotel perched on a hill. "

"Excellent hotel from a room and dining standpoint. We loved the buffet breakfast and dinners. The room was extremely spacious…stayed in a western room with 2 beds and 3 tatami mats. The onset was lovely as well. Only downside was the distance from main attractions was a 30 min bus ride. "
