"A really great family hotel in the heart of Hakone. It’s very clean, the staff are absolutely amazing and the kids can enjoy free access to Yunessun (the onsen water park next door). We enjoyed the buffet food, unlimited ice cream, and all sorts of drinks and snacks peppered around the lobby floor. They just look after you very well here. If you have kids, I definitely recommend staying here for a few days while exploring Hakone and enjoying the onsens. We will come back again. "

"Gora Kadan was the highlight of my trip to Japan. It is beautifully kept and the service, impeccable. None of the photos do this ryokan justice. The private bath was nothing short of breathtaking as there is stunning view of the mountains. I enjoyed the open air and the indoor baths in both areas- the male and female areas are swapped every day for cleaning and it is worth seeing both as they have different garden views. On top of this, the kaiseki meal was delish as was the breakfast the next morning. It was a bit pricey to stay here, but I would do it all again if I could, it was worth every cent."
