Loved my 1-night stay here. Friendly and helpful staff. I was able to leave luggage before check-in and after checkout. The hot spring spa was excellent. I’d definitely stay again.
Great Location, close to train station and walking distance to restraints. Very Quiet-the Zagakurkan was fully booked and we did not hear outside noise from anyone.
The facility harboured a relaxing zen like atmosphere. The amenities in the room promoted a withdraw from the business of normal life.
We would look to stay here again if we were in the area.
We had the best time here. The hotel room was spacious and clean and the private onsen was amazing each night after miles of walking and hiking. If we ever come back to Hakone we would definitely stay here. Perfect location. Easy walk from the train and the hotel held our luggage before checkin so we could explore a bit.
A beautiful traditional style (but modern) hotel close to the station at Yumoto in the heart of Hakone. Ideal base for exploring the mountains, spas and lakes around Mount Fuji.
We had a fantastic stay in Zagakukan in Hakone. We were celebrating our honeymoon, and the staff made our visit very special, with best service and nice bedding in the room! Unforgettable and the private onsen on tre rooftop was amazing! Highly recommend 2 nights in this hotel.
Property was excellent! Our room was extremely nice, quiet and clean. The attached private onsen on the roof made for an incredible experience. Truly lovely area and I hope to stay again!
Very convenient location in Hakone. We booked a room with the private onsen and it was so worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to book a place to stay in Hakone that is also close and in walking distance from Hakone Yumoto Station.
Loved our experience at this hotel- we only stayed one night but wished we stayed longer! We booked the room that has a rooftop hot tub and it was absolutely perfect l. Beds were comfortable, room had tatami mat, and the hot tub was very private, also always full of fresh hot water! We look forward to returning one day!
Everything was great. The check-in was smooth. Staff super friendly and the room was amazing.
They had tons of amenities for their guests.
This is a hotel worth visiting!
This is a luxury property close to the main shopping street and station. You do not have to book a room with private onsen there are several day use onsen in the area where you can book a private room. I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Hakone.
This hotel stay was a dream. Such a comfortable bed, spa-like bathroom setup with hot spring water in the bath. There were comfortable yukatas, pajamas and slippers available for use. We can’t wait to come back!
Our stay at Hotel Zagakukan was fantastic! The surrounding area is beautiful and close to the subway station and bus stops. Although the hotel is only rated a 2.5 star, this felt like a 5 star hotel with all the amenities provided and the quality of the room. The room was huge and super clean, and of course the best part was the private roof top onsen! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone taking a break from the bustling big cities.
Property was very well taken care of. Rooms were spacious and modern. Staff was excellent! They even decorated our room for my wife's birthday! We rented a room with a rooftop bath and we highly recommend it.
The parking is not within the property so you have to park your car in the parking lot which is 6-7 minutes walking distance from the property.
Our room did not have a view from the window but it was nice. We would stay there again.
