「I stayed on the beachside property this time. No renovations on this side, opposed to Mia's buildings across the street. Tiny unit. Cramped bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unit was clean inside.」

「It is a property on National historic places from 1932. It is charming and quirky-if you want new or cookie cutter, stay elsewhere. We enjoyed our stay. 」

「They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.」

「My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.」

「We had an ocean front room with the historic wood paneling. It was charming and comfortable. I loved having the ocean access. The only complaint came from my teenage companion. She was surprised at the lack of outlets for charging her many electronic devices. Myself, this was to be expected and I didn't stress over it! I will definitely stay here again when visiting the OBX. Thanks so much!」

「Staff at desk were wonderful. The property is undergoing renovation and is obviously a work in progress. The room was comfortable, attractive, updated, ecologically sensitive, but did not have some of the amenities we have come to expect, like shower caps, hand and body lotion, etc.」
