"We really enjoyed staying at Tommy’s place. Beautiful views from the second floor, great layout, stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds and sitting areas. Access to the beach was super easy, and having the wagon and beach chairs made it so easy. I also really appreciated how responsive Tommy was each time we asked a question. Without fail he responded within minutes or within the hour. We had to contend with Hurricane Erin so his availability was super helpful. We plan to come back!!"

"We had a great time at this cottage. If you've never been to Nags Head/South Nags Head before, there is a road running parallel to the beach, and then some roads running perpindicular, with 3-6 houses. This is one of those types of "neighborhoods." So while you're not "beachfront," so to speak, you're not crossing a streat to go to the beach, just like the description says. For me, its' the best way to get the beach front experience in an affordable way. It was just a very short walk past one house to get to the beach, and we could see the ocean from the porch and the beach-facing windows.The photo with this review is the picture from the porch. We went with our family of four, two older teenage kids, and there was plenty of room. Also, I loved the location because it's just a short drive to Jockey's Ridge and all the things to do around there.The owners are very responsive and give you all the information you need before visiting."

"We ultimately had a safe and pleasant experience at Parrot Head Inn, but it was not exactly what we expected. The pictures looked a lot brighter, more spacious, and generally well-appointed than the property actually was. It was a little dingy and disorganized (for example, the various pieces of the Pack-n-Play were not stored clearly together, the broom was stored separately from the dustpan, etc.). Dishes were in the dishwasher when we arrived. We did not receive any clear checkout instructions as to how to “restore” the property for the next guests. I could see this property as the perfect fit for college students or otherwise primarily adult guests but it had some unforeseen safety hazards for our baby and toddler (sharp door stops, steep stairs, beds that did not properly fit their frames and consequently left alarming gaps and jutting metal, etc.). We were able to find temporary workarounds and still enjoy the charming neighborhood and nearby beach (despite the disappointing weather conditions while we were there!)."
