The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. "Our room had pretty textured walls and beautiful artwork. The furnishings were also high quality. Its a 3 minute walk to the beach, and within a few minutes drive of a mini-mart, ice cream place, and some restaurants. I couldn't figure out when checkout time was, but another guest told me 11am. Also the doors have # codes on them so you can check in without seeing anyone. But the insides of the doors don't have slide locks, so we were worried about someone being able to enter if they found out...

"Could not be closer to the ocean without a tent"

"This property is very basic. First, there were 3 little white tabs in the bathroom trashcan that looked like small white bandaids. Yuck! Second, the hand towel had a brown streak along one edge that looked like it had been run over by a wheel. The bathtub appeared to have been painted and the paint was peeling. The alarm clock on the desk had been unplugged, and I am unable to bend down to reconnect it to a wall plug (if there was one). The desk had no chair unless the chair on the opposite side of the bed was supposed to be the desk chair. Finally, there were no handicap parking spaces on the rear side of the property. Overall, I think this property was grossly overpriced. $60 to $80 per night would have been much more appropriate for the age and condition of the rooms."

Remodeled cottage with plenty of outdoor space and privacy

"This property was ideal. We were able to do a ton on Roanoke Island but we're still close to everything in Nagshead so it was just an overall convenient location. We loved being close to a grocery store, near walking trails and shopping, and yet very private and quiet at the same time. The house was wonderful for our family.... especially the sofa. The sofa was wonderfully large and our family of 5 was able to spread out and not be in each other's way (we don't even have that at home). Great place to stay."

"Staff were friendly and very welcoming. We found a few maintenance things that they sprung into action to take care of. We were in a suite with a sitting room. The room was quaint and offered a wonderful outdoor porch. The only con to our stay is how uncomfortable the bed was. It was hard and spring filled which kept us tossing most the night with lack of comfort. We left before breakfast, so we aren’t sure how that was, but it smelled good! We did dine at the in house restaurant. It was ok, but nothing to write home about. Our biggest enjoyment of our stay was the location. The view is astounding and you’re within walking distance of everything downtown Manteo and it’s only a short drive to the Nags Head if you want more activities."
