“Property need maintenance floor ve deep dip hiding and covering with carpet near dinning area i was about to tripped furniture snd fan was wobbly however it was ok for one night stay. We had good sleep peaceful area.”

“A very nice apartment with excellent sea views. Lounge/dining furniture a little tired but functional. Everything very clean.Guest guide book was not updated for 2026. There was guidance provided to connect a smart TV to the internet and how to access Netflix etc but the actual TV provided was made in 2008 and predated these facilities! Tried to contact the host regarding access door key instructions but call not returned. It would have been useful to have had small waste bins in the bedrooms……

“Location was perfect. 5 minute walk to beach and old Shanklin. lovely and a very good sized house. Service from the Island company was great when we advised the rug smelt of dog likely from previous guest. Came and collected rug. Maybe just make it clearer there is a tight turning to access rear of property for parking. We had no issues but less confident driver may struggle but doesn’t detract from lovely stay in the property and week on the island.”

“We had a wonderful stay at 1 Apse Castle Cottage — a beautiful, character-filled retreat nestled in peaceful woodland. The cottage is spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and full of charm, with a cozy log burner, luxurious bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen. Beds were super comfy, and everything felt welcoming and homely. The location is ideal for exploring Shanklin and the wider Isle of Wight. “lovely clean and quite place with excellent facilities and furnishings nd so so much room e couldn't believe how much space there was here the help we had booking the ferry and the help booking was great the arrival booking portal was good but a tad confusing at first having never used it the new booking in booking out portal was a little confusing to use at first especially as it wasn't made clear that you need to check out on the portal to get the key safe PIN number maybe the key safe……

“Nice kitchen with all the appliances, cutlery and cookery you'd need. House itself is in a great location, it felt bright and clean. Lovely main room with ensuite. Beds were comfortable. IHC replied to all our queries really quickly, fantastic service. More toilet rolls!”

“Wonderful peaceful location with fantastic sea view. Lovely scenic walk into Ventnor (15 min approx). Nearby donkey sanctuary well worth a visit, as well as the National Trust walk above Ventnor - the views were amazing 360 degrees. Looking forward to a return visit.”
