This is what a mountain cabin should be!

Really nice place, amazing views short drive to town, and fun things to do,this a must stay for family outings, already looking forward our next stay.

Mountain getaway

This is our third year staying at this beautiful property, it feels secluded and removed from the hustle and bustle of life in the best way. Beautiful home and property, great for the family.

Breathtaking views

We stayed at Highland Mist for 5 days, and it was everything we were hoping for. The views were amazing. We were able to relax and enjoy each other's company. The winery at the bottom of the hill was lovely and we were able to experience some of the small towns nearby.

Perfect mountain getaway

This was our 2nd year staying at Highland Mist, it is close to downtown Banner Elk while feeling perfectly removed. It is a perfect setup for a family looking for a time together in the mountains of NC!

Amazing!

We had the best time! The house was so clean and spacious! It was located beautifully high on the mountain, yet still convenient to town. We will definitely be back!

Spacious with gorgeous view

We were in town for my daughters wedding. The property was very spacious. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved that every bedroom had a private bath.

Very comfortable cabin

The cabin was very comfortable for us and our adult four kids + 2 spouses! Kitchen had almost everything you need to cook Thanksgiving turkey and the house was very comfortable + roomy, though we were a little disappointed the outdoor fireplace couldn’t be used (on the porch).

Our party of eight seniors thoroughly enjoyed the 4 day stay at Highland Mist. Location was perfect for viewing the surrounding area. It was clean as well as adequately supplied. Checking in and out was a breeze. Would most certainly stay there again! Thanks for providing this property for us to enjoy.

Quiet Mountain Getaway

Perfect quiet retreat. Our family of 6 jad a wonderful time. We got snowed in one morning till the snow plow came down the road. The weather it quite different than 3 miles down. We really enjoyed the home and thw hiking in the area.

Perfect stay! December 26 /2023 to January 2 / 2024

Our stay at Highland Mist, Banner Elk was absolutely perfect! We had 7 incredible nights surrounded of an adorable house, nature and snow. The Vrbo app was convenient and easy to use when making the reservation of this gorgeous house! The management of the property -Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals- answered all our emails and made sure we were happy and all our needs were covered. We highly recommend this property if you want to build beautiful memories! Audrey

Amazing view, great house!

We had such a great stay at Highland Mist! The view from the deck is gorgeous. Was great to have fire place on the deck and the fire pit on the lawn, we took advantage of both! Lower level was great for the kids, they got to play with foosball and the pool table can turn into ping pong. The house was super clean upon arrival, and check in was easy. I would definitely recommend and would book here again.

Wonderful house

We were 3 couples and a baby and had plenty of room to spread out. The house was very clean and comfortable. The view from the deck was spectacular. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub, the outdoor fireplace and the fire pit. It was also very close to the winery and downtown Banner Elk, which had many restaurant choices. I would recommend as a first choice if your looking for a mountain get away.

Father’s Day Getaway

The house is beautiful - we had a fantastic time. The view was absolutely amazing! Our only complaint is that the games in the game room are outdated and don’t really work- the pool table and ping pong table specifically. Otherwise, a great time!

Lovely 🏔views

Highland Mist is a very special property. The sunsets from the deck are truly magnificent and the peaceful seclusion of the property is an introvert’s dream! Though it is kind of “tucked away” you are not far from downtown Banner Elk or Beech Mountain. Visiting with the neighboring cows and watching the deers roam through the yard was so relaxing. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect girls weekend !

Great location for exploring all the high country has to offer. The house has a great setup and the views are just incredible! Could use a few more dining glasses (martini and wine glasses!) but otherwise the kitchen is great! Great experience overall. Thanks!

Property great, management not so much

This property is wonderful. Well stocked, fun, great environment. We were snowed in and were not able to leave, and it took the management two hours to respond to us (20 minutes before we were supposed to leave), leading to a lot of stress and confusion. I hope they can improve this because the property is so great.
