Best Rental for Ski Trip

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was in a perfect location to get to and from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. The house is very spacious and had everything we needed for a great ski trip.

Very close to ski resort

My family 8 had an amazing time and were very comfortable at this cabin! Very spacious both indoors and outside. All of the kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment amenities are available. I highly recommend booking this cabin and making sure to read the home bookley ince you arrive.

Sibling play in the snow weekend

Had a fun and adventurous stay at the beautiful and centrally located bungalow. Enjoyed the pool table, the bathtub and showers. The roominess and open floor plan was great for the 8 of us. Easy access to all outdoor activities, gorgeous views and the deer were abundant. Would definately rent again!

Nice House

The house was clean & looked like advertised. We did have an issue with the oven that was inconvenient. The pool table was nice & the beds slept well. It was difficult to figure out the air conditioning but it was nice to have. The property manager was very responsive to our concerns!!

Great vacation home!

For the second year in a row, we had a wonderful time at the Sugar Tree Getaway. The house was extremely clean and suited our needs very well. We especially enjoyed all of the natural light and the quiet neighborhood, plus the huge master bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is well-furnished and the pool table was a nice bonus. We also love the location - very near Ole Esval golf and tennis facility. The only minuses are these: sofa in living room is very uncomfortable; instructions for using gas oven would be helpful (how to know when it is pre-heated), and the TV could not connect to Netflix/Hulu/Amazon prime, etc after the first night. The problem may have been that there were some brief power outages on the first night due to unknown origin, but we had a lot of trouble with the living room TV after that (couldn't use at all) and other TVs would not connect to those services. It was easy to work with Carolina Cabin Rentals. My only suggestion is that you charge for the very large $1000 security deposit closer to the rental time, so that the refund occurs before the bill has to be paid when there are no damages.

Sugar Tree Getaway

We were so excited about this property, hoping that we would be able to rent it again over the winter. We go to Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain very frequently and have always had a nice time. I have never left a review for a house before. Unfortunately, our excitement turned in to disappointment when we got settled in the house. The beds sheets were dirty, the bedding was dirty, there were no extra sheet, the only extra pillows were also dirty and there were no pillow covers. Everything was dusty, there were a whole bunch of throw pillows that were also filthy. My brother picked one up and there was instantly animal hair of some kind all over him. We were only give 6 towels, really, really thin towels. The house was beautiful in theory but is in dyer need of some major maintenance. screens were broken, there were random cords all over the floor when we got there, back door was busted, down stairs bathroom was dirty and the shower door was busted. It definitely looked like it had seen several party's or a lot of large groups. Location was good, the lot was good but we could not really enjoy our stay because of how dirty it was and how many things seemed to be busted. Needless to say, we will be trying to find another house to rent.

Sugar tree getaway

No heat in the bathrooms was disappointing because it was cold. I bought a space heater and was reimbursed for the trouble which I appreciate. Fire pit was not completed and had no seating around it but we made it work. Overall a nice house

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

This cabin will not disappoint. It was exactly as described and very clean and comfortable. The location was less than a mile to the Sugar Mountain Ski resort and had a beautiful lot. We would definitely stay again.

Great house and location!

A great location on Sugar Mountain in a very quiet area. We very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking to "get away". Furnishings and appointments are top notch. Outside seating on the deck was much enjoyed and the weather was very cooperative. The multitude of windows all around the home make it bright and cheerful. Master suite upstairs is expansive and allows for privacy from the main floor bedrooms. Easy access from front entrance with just two slight landings for those who may be older and unable to manage steps. Owner should be commended for the construction of the home, i.e. high end windows and glass doors, individual a/c units for each bedroom, and bath and shower fixtures.

Enjoyed our getaway

We enjoyed our getaway overall. The house had a few issues while we were there but the property managers were helpful. The house was well stocked with necessities. It seemed as though there was quite the party there before our arrival because several things were broken, including the picnic table bench outside as well as we found about a six inch piece of a broken pool stick. The house needed a good deep clean. (i.e. clean under the furniture, wash bath mats (which we did), wipe cabinet faces, clean the fans, etc. It may be ridiculous to expect this kind of cleanliness in a rental home, but we noticed these things, so I am mentioning them.

Amazing!

We had the best time

We had the best time staying here. The place was beyond our expectations. There were eight adults here and we never felt crowded. The pool table was a bonus. The cue sticks could use some better tips and need some chalk but that didn't stop us! We ate in most meals. There were plenty of pots and pans to get the job done. The place is absolutely beautiful.
