The Dog House was an awesome destination to celebrate my wife’s birthday! Perhaps our favorite part was sitting creek side listening to the sound of the rushing water. It is so therapeutic! Look forward to staying again.

Great location for a weekend getaway

We enjoyed our stay at The Dog House! The location was convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock, and the management company was responsive to our questions before and during the stay. Great little mountain cabin.

Beautifully designed home

The design and decor of this home is beautiful, and a very peaceful place to bring the dogs for a visit to the mountains. The creekside firepit in particular is a highlight and we look forward to visiting again when there isn't a fireban. We wished we could have stayed longer, overall it was well worth it.

Amazing cabin by the water!

My husband and I stayed here for parents’ weekend at App State, our daughter is a freshman. Perfect location and just a short 10 minutes to campus. The most amazing fire pit down by the stream. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

This was a perfect property for a short weekend getaway for my wife and I, along with our 10 year old lab. The house is very comfortable, has an awesome outdoor fire pit next to a creek on the property. The location is convenient to a short trip into town(10-15 mins). We would definitely consider coming back for another weekend. 5 stars

The home was very private and had a beautiful stream behind it. The outside of the home needs to be cleaned and my only complaint was the mattress was very firm and thats not what we're use to. Hot tub was very nice.

Snow Information!

Nice, quiet, cozy location for two people. AWD/4WD a MUST in snowy or icy conditions. Unpaved, hilly access road and steep driveway! Would have been nice if rental company cleared upper level entry walk to make it easier to enter/exit house from the access road. Driveway is gravel, but was not cleared, so very slick with packed snow and iced over. Nevertheless, we enjoyed and may come back in Spring or Fall when everything is more easily accessable.
