Alfred's Tower A triangular commemorative folly with circular turrets at each corner, it was completed in 1766 by Henry Hoare (the Younger) of Stourhead in tribute to the achievements of King Alfred. There is a larger than life sized statue of King Alfred on the other side of the tower. Grade I Listed.

“Lovely cosy cottage , excellent location for exploring Wells. Easy walk to cathedral and historic town center. Wonderful hotel like welcome with snacks and milk in fridge , bathrobes and bathroom amenities. Very responsive and welcoming host. Lovely little garden around and sunrise in bedroom windows . The pans could do with updating and more variety (pans old and scratched non sick and no pasta/ soup large pot) ”
