"We had a lovely one night stay in August, booked for a Balloon ride locally. The annexe is attached to the owners house but perfectly private. Set in a small courtyard and garden, the walk up the wooden staircase leads to a secret and very private BBQ and wooded area with fabulous views by day and magical, twinkling fairy lights at night. "It was a very nice stay with an excellent couple. Warm welcomed. A very nice big dog was also present to welcome. I had to say hello to the dog as he was so friendly. Very cooperative host. Family environment. Residence is upstairs like three rooms and bathroom outside the rooms. Mostly quiet. Nice and clean and a proper communication with the host throughout my stay. I was invited warmly to have breakfast but had no time. Will miss this stay."

"The Coal Exchange is a lovely old building which has been turned into a hotel with large bedrooms and bathrooms. The bed was comfortable although there was some wear showing on the headboard/ wall behind the bed(room 143). The bathroom had a large Jacuzzi bath and a rainfall shower. The toiletries provided smelt gorgeous! There were two large windows looking out onto the road beside the hotel which was surprisingly quiet. Unfortunately, because the weather was extremely hot and there was no air conditioning the room was warm, especially overnight. There was a fan and we left the windows but it still was difficult to sleep. Breakfast was good, with plenty of hot and cold choices on the self service buffet. The pain au chocolat and croissant were particularly good, far better than usual hotel standards and I enjoyed a gooseberry yoghurt and choice of cheese! All the staff were helpful and we were able to park outside the hotel because parking is only paid between 8am and 6pm."
