“Check-in is difficult at best as it is between 4 pm to 6 pm and after that you would be provided additional instructions because they are closed. She was not pleasant and all business. I think if you wanted to check-in before 4 pm there is a $50 charge. A $4 charge for a bag ice. There are too many rules and charges 🙄. She suggests places to eat worked for her but not those who are traveling under a budget. The only place she suggested was the Miner's Restaurant next door by the Miner's Hotel,……

“Ok for a quick stay during a road trip. The town was a bit quiet, and the hotel was not very well-maintained. The drainage was clogged, and although they had a plumber fix it, we had to wait almost 30 minutes, which affected our sleeping time. I wish they had checked everything before check-in so no one’s time would be wasted on technical issues that could have been avoided.”

“This is our third stay at Iron Horse and we will keep coming back. We are most impressed with the cleanliness of the room. Paint, carpet, bathroom, etc are all clean and in great working order. The property is clean and well-kept as well. The staff is also friendly and helpful. The Inn is located close to many of the Black Hills attractions. “The owner let us check-in early and it was a very easy process. He was helpful. He even had to explain how to work the TV remote not once but twice as it nearly brought us to our knees. We never thought to turn the TV on via a light switch. The owner showed and we had a good laugh as being new TVs the company installed them with the light switch turn on and did not tell the owner. I believe said it took about 3 weeks to work out the bugs. The remote was little and did not have hardly any……

“This is now apartments for people to bounce in and out of. I’m not sure why Expedia still has a contract with them. It’s not available as a hotel rental. Nobody at the front desk to help you a sign on the door that says they aren’t available for nightly rental”
