VILLA BENEDETTA, Blessed House # 2

  • Villa Benedetta is located in Garfagnana, a geographic region of Tuscany very ancient and rich in traditions. It was erected in 1636 and hosted the Este nobles, in particular the Duke of Modena Francesco IV D Este who stayed there to hunt. The apartments have been created inside the very suggestive villa whose loggia, paved in stone, immediately transports the visitor into an ancient atmosphere. The location of the building dominates the valley. Exposed to the south / east, it enjoys sunlight for most of the day. The front garden, and the splendid swimming pool with sun loungers and deck chairs, allow you to rest in full relaxation. While, the ancient stone source with its spring water will help to brighten your stay. The environment is also particularly suitable for children. Relevant to the villa is the ancient family oratory which, on request, can be visited like other parts of the building.
    The "Casa Benedetta" apartment consists of a double bedroom, a bedroom with two single wrought iron beds, a private bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge with a two-seat sofa bed with direct access to the veranda.

Nice house with a warm and welcoming atmosphere

We stayed in one of Paolo’s apartments for two weeks. The apartment was nice and clean. The pool area is great. There is an amazing view from the house which is nicely located in a small village. There are plenty of things to see and do in the area. Paolo, the host is very kind and we had the opportunity to taste his amazing homemade pizza.we hope to be back soon

Sehr gastfreundlich und sauber

Wir waren leider nur 2 Nächte, aber wir kommen wieder. Der Pool ist der Hammer .... Sauber sehr gepflegt. Wir wurden sehr herzig empfangen und fühlten uns rund um wohl. Es war alles sehr sauber, Kompliment an Paolo der sehr hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend und gastfreundlich ist. Danke für den schönen (leider sehr kurzen) Aufenthalte. Bis zum nächsten mal

Heaven on Earth

We had the most amazing stay at Villa Benedetta with our kids. The historic charming villa just next to the pool overlooking the whole Valley. Everything is clean and looked after with respect to the history of the house. We drank the cleanist water from the mountains that ran through the villa during our stay so we didnt have to bring heavy bottles from the supermarket. You get your privacy and the feeling of being Home away from Home. All this due to our amazing host Paolo, who has the most friendly welcoming attitude towards his guests. And he makes the best pizza Margarita we all agreed :-) Paolo really would like for you as a guest to enjoy your stay. The close city Castelnuovo di Gafagnana is also a very Nice small village with a tranquill atmosphere. Thank you for having us. :-) Ciao fra Noam, Samuel, Michael & Camilla (and also Thor and Julie off course who stayed 3 nights with us :-))

Extraordinary stay at Paolo's villa - very accommodating and extremely helpful, beautiful apartment and pool area, all very clean and inviting. Paolo made pizza for us the last night - We will be back for sure!

Terrific stay

We stayed for a week in the apartment Benedetta at the back of the mansion which was built I believe 3 centuries ago. The mansion is being beautifully restored by Paolo the landlord. He is a very friendly, warm and funny person. We laughed a lot. He offered us real homemade pizza's on our first night because we arrived rather late. Later in the week he ' officially' cooked us a real Tuscan dinner which was really great. We enjoyed the pool and loved the view from the terrace where we used to have our breakfast. I wouldn't be surprised if many more will enjoy this place.

Fantastisk autentisk feriebolig omgivet at smukke bjerge og beliggende i skøn lille landsby.

Hvis man ønsker fred og ro i smukke omgivelser er dette stedet. Vores børn elskede poolen og free internet gjorde at de ikke kedede sig. Lejligheden var ren, stor og rummelig med et veludstyret køkken. Temperaturen i huset var fantastisk sval og specielt om natten hvor der absolut ikke var brug for aircondition. Værten var meget venlig og hjælpsom. Stedet kan ikke anbefales for gangbesværede ellers kan jeg kun give stedet mine varmeste anbefalinger.

Excellentes vacances dans un endroit magnifique !

Tout est parfait dans cette magnifique villa du 17ème siècle, séparée en plusieurs appartements. Louer Villa Benedetta donne accès au plus grand, avec terrasse & barbecue privé. L’ameublement est en ligne avec ce qu’on attend d’un tel endroit, rustique, romantique et… italien tout à la fois. Il y a une source d’eau excellente au fond du jardin qui nous a bien servi pour toutes les randonnées et course à pied que nous avons fait pendant nos 2 semaines bien rempli. Les paysages sont magnifiques, surtout les vues du balcon commun et de la terrasse de la piscine. La piscine est très agréable, malgré quelques taons qui ont un peu gâché la fête quelques jours. Paolo est un hôte admirable, toujours aux petits soins avec ses locataires. Toujours le sourire, un petit mot agréable ou un conseil sur les endroits à visiter. Quinze jours de vacances vraiment reposantes, complètement déconnecté de la vie trépidante de la ville. Le wifi est parfois un peu capricieux, mais suffisant pour ce qu’on a à faire durant de telles vacances. Merci Paolo pour ce très bon séjour en famille dans votre magnifique maison.

Insieme a due amiche ho trascorso l'intero mese di agosto in uno degli appartameni della villa, arredato in stile, spazioso, molto molto confortevole. La piscina, collocata al fianco della villa, da cui si gode un panorama stupendo ,e' una delizia..Teli e biancheria della casa, pulitissimi, sono forniti da Paolo, il proprietario, sempre gentile e disponibile...Consiglio vivamente Villa Benedetta. Noi ci siamo trovate benissimo..Da ripetere!

Authentieke villa in prachtige omgeving

De reis naar de villa toe is er een met bergen en dalen: het is een gebied met veel hoogteverschil. Maar de bijzonder gastvrije ontvangst, 's avonds om 10 uur, door Paolo en het halve dorp was de moeite waard. Op het moment dat je de poort van Villa Benedetta binnenstapt, stap je een andere wereld in. De villa, sinds een eeuwigheid familiebezit, is onderverdeeld in vier appartementen die allemaal anders van indeling zijn, en ligt op een terrein waar je elke keer nieuwe plekjes ontdekt. Een trap in de prachtige tuin om het huis, leidt naar het zwembad vanwaar je een fantastisch uitzicht hebt op het dal en waar het heerlijk barbequen is. Een tochtje door het huis - een oud jachtslot uit 1600 vol antiek - is absoluut de moeite waard. Je ontdekt bijvoorbeeld de centrale woonkamer met een forse vleug familiegeschiedenis, balkon over de breedte van de villa, een voortuin die uitkomt op de plek waar de bron zijn (drink)water geeft, en is voorzien van speelgoed (mocht je kleine kinderen meenemen). In dit deel van het huis vind je ook je eigen wasmachine, elk appartement één, die bediend wordt met een tag. Ook de andere faciliteiten klopten met de beschrijving, alles was misschien niet hypermodern maar het was netjes en schoon. Alleen als je echt afhankelijk bent van Wifi: gedoe met beveiligingscertificaten en verbindingslussen maakten de kwaliteit wisselend. Voor wie houdt van rust, authenticiteit en service is dit verblijf een aanrader. Vergeet je wekker, de haan doet hier zijn werk. In de buurt is voldoende te beleven, zowel natuur als cultuur. Houd bij je reistijden rekening met de bergachtige omgeving: Lucca is ongeveer een uur rijden, Florence twee uur, Pisa anderhalf uur.

"Geweldige plek voor rust...

"Geweldige plek voor rustzoekers (met kinderen) die niet van (massa)toerisme houden. Een piepklein dorpje met mini supermarkt, 6 km verderop een leuke en grote plaats met alle voorzieningen (ook restaurants, winkels e.d.) Prachtige omgeving, heerlijk rustig, magnifiek uitzicht, heerlijk zwembad, een fijne, grote tuin (met eigen drinkwaterbron!)waar ook kinderen zich heerlijk kunnen vermaken. De eigenaar is een enorm enthousiaste man die alles zal doen om het zijn gasten naar de zin te maken. Een hele vriendelijke, aardige, leuke en gezellige man. Spreekt steeds beter Engels. Wij gaan zeker nog een keer terug. Een aboslute aanrader!!"
