The tenants had a party on the property which was next to our room. Loud music until 3am, talking loud, and hanging around the 1st floor hallway making it dangerous because they were not part of the hotel guests. The owner/manager did not answer his phone and the office was closed.

Have stayed here a few times, many things are broken and not working in room, no hot water, seems they never have the room I booked, also find it weird how they wanted to keep my passport, I don't think I will be back, them holding my passport was weird, as others mentioned it's next to a sewage plant. Other than that the staff is always friendly and it's close to everything. If you are on a budget and just need somewhere to crash this is a safe spot that is central.

Para comenzar alquile en SolCaribe Suites y me alojaron en SolCaribe hotel Las fotos estan tomadas en el angulo justo o tiene fotoshop. La entrada es por un pasillo angosto, al fondo de la propiedad subiendo una escalera incomoda. Toda la propiedad y todas las habitaciones tiene vista a un Paredon del edificio que esta delante del hotel, o sea que la vista es de 1m hasta el paredon de la construccion que hay delante, realmente considero la estadia una estafa, las fotos una gran mentira y realmente expedia deberia investigar los hoteles que asocia ya que si no uds tambien son parte de la estafa

We have stayed here before, so we are familiar with hotel and area. The only reason that we give a 4 star rating on area around the property is that the hotel is sandwiched between buildings. The hotel is walking distance from the Altramar ferry and is easily accessed from the beach and el centro. If Sol Caribe has availability we will book again!

Muy bien el alojamiento, muy céntrico, limpieza excelente, lo único que tienen que mejorar es que sale muy pica agua en regadera y no sale rápido la caliente, el rollo de papel es insuficiente, por lo demás todo muy bien y recomendable para pasar unos días en este lugar.

The property was dated but very clean and comfortable. We were put into a room w/a double bed but had reserved a King in the Honeymoon Suite. Fortunetly, the room next to us became avail after the first night and we were able to move. There are a LOT of stairs to deal with but the location is super close to beach, shopping and nightlife. The view from the rooftop patio was spectacular and comfortable. The owners speak min English but were very accomodating to our requests. We enjoyed our stay.

Great view from deck but units not well maintained
The first room we were assigned the refrigerator did not work and the kitchen and living area were very small. The hotel knew about the problem with the refrigerator so they agreed to put us in another room for the next 2 nights. The second room had a larger bed and a better kitchen layout but the kitchen sink leaked. The drain hose underneath was broken. It appeared the pipe had been fixed prior and it broke again. We informed the manager of the problem on Sunday afternoon and he told us someone would look at it manana. We asked for a bucket so the sink would not flood underneath. The sink was unusable as a result of the problem. No one came to fix it the next day. So we never had a working sink. The view from the top deck was the selling point for this place but repairs are not kept up on. For the price we paid I would expect things to work properly.

This property is very old but well kept...a lot of character for sure but lots of stairs...super clean...beautiful view from lovely terrace on top that you can relax on...BBQ on....very comfortable beds....great location!!! Would def stay again....Mike & Marguerite are sweet hosts but very little English....they tried hard to please us 😀 Only 3 min walk to ferry!

Pro : nice and friendly staff, well aerated room. Central beach is very close by and very nice. Con : room was very small, only one outlet for all the kitchen appliances. There is only room to sit 3 people for eating but there is space for 5 to sleep. It was hard to get warm water, which is fine for adults but complicated when trying to clean kids. Too expensive for what you get and the area is simply too touristy.

Awesome Location!
This is a clean & comfortable very modest hotel. The location is perfect only a few minutes from the beach, shopping, Hildago restaurants, the Malecon & city bus. The front desk reception & housekeeping are super friendly. They do not speak much English and we don’t speak Spanish so the Translator app was helpful. There is not an elevator so you must be able to climb stairs. We would stay here again! The budget price & modest room we’re worth the convenient location.
