Blue Ridge Mountain Lodge | Private Riverfront Stone Fireplace · Private Forest · Chef’s Kitchen
Nestled in a Blue Ridge Mountain valley along a private stretch of the East Fork of the Pigeon River, the Lodge has long been a meeting place. Built of hand-hewn timber and stacked stone, the buildings carry centuries of craft and story, restored with care to their original bones. Deliberately authentic, unpretentious, and quietly luxurious. This is a place built for gathering. Best suited for those who know and love spending time in the mountains, and enjoy the wild peace of nature.
Here, days soften into mountain time and settle around the river.
Entering the Lodge, the wade room takes boots, coats, and river gear.
To the left, a wood-burning stove warms a sitting room with river views, shelves of books, and a record player. To the right, a plush banquette wraps a round table.
Just beyond is a generous kitchen with stone counters and a Thermador range, built for cooking together, with a long table ready for a crowd.
The living room anchors around a massive stone fireplace, with a sleeping loft above for guests of all ages, and a screened porch beyond, open to the sound of the river.
Original wormy chestnut and live-edge maple carry throughout the Lodge. Bedrooms are dressed in Pendleton and good linens, with exceptionally comfortable mattresses, alongside three full bathrooms.
Outside, the property unfolds between riverbank, meadow, winding creeks, ponds, and wooded trails.
Adjacent to the Lodge is the Lost Library, a hand-hewn log cabin that seems to have always been here. Inside: billiards, ping pong, and shelves of books. Attached, Cook-Out Cove is a covered space with picnic tables, a barbecue area, darts, and lawn games, centered around an old stone hearth.
Beyond the property: Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, the Cradle of Forestry, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The towns of Canton, Waynesville, and Brevard offer good food, galleries, and are worth an unhurried visit.
Come for the river and the mountains. Stay for good sleep and the memories made around the table.
