「The staff were very friendly. The facilities were well-maintained and tidied up by guests and the staff there. Very new and clean. Spacious common area in which you can cook and have meals comfortably. So far the best hotel I have ever stayed in Switzerland. The downside for somebody may be the self-check in system, which is easy for me but not for everybody.」

「Definitely an old place. The smell is not for the faint-hearted, and they seem to have a problem with flies—there can be 10–20 flies in the room, especially if you open a window. Also, be prepared to pay additional taxes after your stay. The staff is kind and helpful, and the location is beautiful. Don’t expect much from the breakfast—it has very limited options, but it’s nice to have if you don’t want to go somewhere else in the morning.」

「The hosts were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the bed was a bit soft for me taste and the pillow extremely thin. The breakfast was much better than expected. The location was across the street from the gondola (less than 5 min) and Aare Gorge was a 25-30 min walk from there. The views from the places were incredible. The WiFi was good.」

「Disappointment was an understatement. Besides the fact that the hotel manager had some racist undertones in his talk, the staff was uncomfortably odd. Their mission is to be eco-friendly, which is great, but their mission of living in a commune & not liking tourists makes it worrisome. No TV is allowed. Men are asked to sit to pee. Music is discouraged. Going into town is frowned upon. BEWARE OF EXTRA CHARGES! The hotel insists that you eat meals with them. It is cheaper to eat meals...
