very old guesthouse!!!!! wrong description from the webpage: 1. no free wifi in room; 2. no parking, 3. no hot water or tap water in room, should paid 25R for a bottle of water! 4. it is a youth hostel not a 4-star !!! 5. may out of electric supply... 6. they ask for 12R for VAT after April 1... 7. a lot of stairs turning from corner to corners... 8.eerie feeling - very dark environment with a lot of strange drawings; 9. the car just park on a single double way path - VERY DANGEROUS and thelves around the hostel.

Es war wirklich toll. Wir sind von dort mit dem Mietauto in alle Richtungen ausgeschwärmt. Das Frühstück war top top. Der Gastgeber hat immer ein Tipp parat, was man noch anschauen soll. Er spricht auch deutsch, was für uns super war. Wir hatten wirklich noch nie so einen tollen Urlaub. Das Land ist unglaublich!!

You should stay here!

Amazing stay. Fresh cooked to order breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. They went out of their way to make our stay amazing. We looked out over Kalk Bay. The town was welcoming with lots of food options easily walkable. We will be staying here again when we go back.

We had a great stay. The staff are wonderful. The view from our window was fantatic. We stayed 9 nights while visiting friends. Breakfast was also great. Lots of good restaurants around. We highly recommend it.

Great for a family stay in the centre of Kalk Bay

Great location, easy walk to harbour front, bars and restaurants. We had the comfort suite, which was seperate to the main guest house. It was very, very spacious, with wonderful views from the master bedroom/lounge on the first floor. It was cold whilst we were there. There is a log burner on each floor which you can purchase firewood/lighters for at reception. This was a must for the cold days. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helped when needed. Security were visible but made us feel safe.

This place is divine! A beautiful old house, lovely decor, spacious, incredible views, great location, and really lovely staff! Freshly ground coffee delivered to your room at a time you choose each morning was a great touch. I fell in love with Kalk Bay - what a gem of a town. And I'd highly recommend staying at Chartfield to anyone looking to visit Kalk Bay.

Brilliant weekend away

Excellent location in Kalk Bay - just ambling down the beautiful steps to several restaurant locations. That is if you want to leave the stunning views of the guesthouse porch. The room and amenities were in excellent condition.

Good view with less human touch.

Nice view. Excellent breakfast. Less nice with a small room without any window. Strange welcome by a young woman - more keen to get us out of the way than saying welcome and listen to our questions.
