Cottages in Carcassonne

"This hotel was rated highly and priced as though it was a high end property - it is not. It is an ancient chateau remodeled into a 1970s motel with amateur carpentry. Upon arrival the manager attempted to upsell us on-site breakfast and booking a dinner reservation through her website instead of showing us to our room. Our room was surprising, as it was not attractive or comfortable. There was a giant space heater to be plugged in because the proprietor turns off the heat at night - in December! The bathroom door was an ill fitting rolling door that did not provide privacy. We were happy to check out the next day. I could not recommend this hotel."

"The owner was very accommodating. This is an old property. The rooms are large. There is an art gallery attached to the building and concerts can be held here. We were there in off season. I suspect the town and hotel could be busy in the summerGreat town. Friendly people."

"Gite was exactly as described and spotlessly clean. Lovely area around the property with Canal Du Midi just a few steps from the house. The Olive Tree overlooks garden so is very peaceful and quiet. Swimming pool was superb and the owners took great care keeping it clean and inviting. I would not hesitate in recommending this gite."

"Great pool, nice big unit for the five of us, and great end unit overlooking a field. Didn't feel that clean, however, an it was a little buggy (ants obviously, might have seen a mouse dropping under the sink, not 100% sure there weren't bedbugs or fleas or something else) but some of that can be due to being surrounded by nature as it was. As I said, the pool area was great, and the snack bar was a definite plus. Good location for exploring Carcassonne."

"Great Place to stay and enjoy the windy and quiet Place. The streets to get to the house are narrow if you follow the short route in heaps… but after once all was easier :) "
