The layout of the room was bizarre. Big wardrobe but table in front of sink ! In a budget hotel maybe hooks on walls and more room to be able to use the sink..... Heating in room on and couldn't turn off, had a fan and opened windows but still too hot .

Very nice staff very friendly room nice with very comfortable bed also quiet. Only problem if you have difficulty using stairs inform hotel before booking. I was right on top floor 3 and a bit floors up had difficulty with luggage and stairs. Apart from that a nice hotel

Walkable to the city center. Parking offered tiny and hard to get to however, plenty of side street parking on both ends pending time of arrival. Shower was the only problem. You could only shower a few min before the bottom was full as it did not drain properly.

We were pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful stay we had at Tanes Hotel this weekend!
Considering the competitive price, the room was large and spacious. It was kitted out with everything you could need for a short stay, towels, extra blankets, toiletries, tea and coffee facilities, etc. The bedroom and bathroom were also pristinely cleaned.
We were kindly greeted upon arrival, despite the late time and shown to our room. The check in and out process were also very simple.
There were convenient shops nearby too.
We would definitely recommend Tanes Hotel and would absolutely book again the next time we visit Cardiff!

This is a hostel and not a hotel. There are no breakfast facilities, no lounges, etc as shown in the photos. The building is very tired and smells of damp.
Our room had a threadbare carpet, the radiator didn’t work so the room was ridiculously hot, the mattress was old and lumpy, water stains on the ceiling, no plug in the sink, toilet stained brown……need I continue! The paving outside was very slippery and a death trap.
To polish off a terrible stay, another guest blocked the car park and we were stuck in the car park for 40 mins with the manager refusing to find out who owned the car to move it. The manager seemed far more concerned about the other guest and couldn’t care less if we were stuck in the car park all morning.
We paid a lot of money to stay here for an event at the Utilita Arena (they had obviously elevated the price) and it is not what it says it is at all. I’m afraid I cannot understand the highly rated reviews at all.

The room was cold no heating
Shower was not draining which pauses high risk of infections complained to manager on duty very rude answered to my request that he does not keep plumber in his pocket I have all evidence of his rudeness and shower not draining
Asked me to live in the dark if I was not satisfied with the service which meant he just wanted me to keep quiet and not air my views of staying
This was a very bad experience no customer service qualities
