「Owner was very responsive and accommodated an earlier check in which was appreciated. Check in was straight forward. House was clean and tidy, spacious with a garden that the kids enjoyed and comfy beds.Shower pressure was weak but overall we enjoyed the house and would recommend. Great location to enjoy the full range of the monterey Bay Area as well as local shops, although the house is well stocked with amenities 」

「This property was perfect for our weekend trip to Monterey for an extended family reunion. It was close to our family gatherings and to the activities planned in Monterey. 「The house is adorable and extremely comfortable. Both my husband and I were obsessed with the bed and the amazing wrap around porch. Everything in the house is high functioning and the view to the river is beautiful. It’s a long windy drive up and down to the house but it’s worth it. Everything about the River house makes you slow down and enjoy this beautiful part of California. 」

「We didn't use hot tub - it's too far under tree to feel comfortable in it. We had to purchase our own hand soap and paper towels. We could not get the heating system to turnoff - too warm in house. Try communicating with owner he said no AC. All the baking pans did not fit the oven. Nice house hopefully gets more organized.」

「The house was in a central location and was very cute. Overall, I would recommend staying here. The main bedroom was very nice with an attached bath. Some of the dishes were dirty, but I also would not expect the hosts to rewash every dish after every guest. The main reason I put good versus excellent is that the rooms were a little confusing. The one with two twin beds (one of them a trundle) was very, very small. The one with three twin beds (one of them supposedly a trundle) seemed like it...

「The views were definitely as described -- gorgeous, beautiful sunsets. However, be warned that the road and driveway up to these stunning views is quite windy and steep. Upon arrival, we changed our plans for going out at night and cooked all of the nights. That slight alteration did not affect our stay--actually enhanced our use of the property. Definitely enjoyed the Carmel Valley area and will be returning again soon. Thanks for sharing your space with our family!」
