Casa Giardino is a comfortable, spotlessly clean and well-equipped holiday stay and our hosts, who live next door, could not have been more friendly or helpful (without being at all intrusive). The Casentino area and the local villages are a delight. The only small criticisms we would have are a) that there was nowhere comfortable to sit by the pool (there were wooden loungers with very thin cushions - we used our own camping chairs and b) that the pool does feel as if it is in the host's garden and is not really totally private (a low hedge separated the pool area from our hosts house a few metres away). If these points are not a problem then Casa Giardino is an excellent stay. The welcome is warm and the welcome package is very generous - and inside the house the rooms are very thoughtfully equipped, far more so than the average rental property.

This is the perfect spot to relax, almost no tourists but nature, birds, and a nice pool in a wonderful garden. You will need a car, and it takes time to get to the place coming from Florence. But once you are there there is the Casentino National Forest for hiking, Arezzo is an amazing must see city, Poppi is just 15 minutes away and a wonderful place. And when you come back to the house you will hear the cuckoo and the deer in the forest. Richard provides you with everything you need in the house and is always helping with information and tips.

From the moment we booked our stay, we were made to feel welcome. Our hosts kept in touch with us on the run up and made us feel very welcome when we arrived and all through our stay. The house has nice gardens with plenty of different areas to use and feels very private. Inside the house is clean, spacious and welcoming with everything you'd need. The kids loved the pool, which was big and deep enough for us all to use at the same time. The location is a perfect base for days out exploring other places either by car or train. It is in a fairly remote setting - which we loved. If you're looking for infinity pools and swanky night clubs, perhaps this isn't the one for you... but we would happily recommend this property to our friends and family. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The house and the garden were beautiful. We had everything we wanted and needed. If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful place on earth - this is the right place. A car is highly recommended and although Florence and other cities didn't seem so far away, it took some time to reach the highway. Richard was an exellent host, every morning he cleaned up the private swimming pool. He also provided restaurant recommendations to us and which places were worth a trip. Whenever we had questions, he was there. Otherwise, our group always had our private time and space. Thank you very much!

Das Haus ist toll und etwas abseits gelegen in den Hügeln von Casentino. Der Pool ist perfekt, Richard ist ein sehr netter und zurückhaltender Gastgeber – wir haben uns als Familie sehr wohl gefühlt. Dear Richard, we wish you just the best! Jetzt kommt ein großes Aber: Die Kommunikation mit FeWo-Direkt/Vrbo im Vorfeld war unterirdisch und über die Maßen nervig! Die Agentur nimmt sich der Anfragen nicht an, bzw. schließt die Fälle völlig unbegründet vorzeitig. Der Anbieter kümmert sich, um es konkret zu sagen einen Sch-Dreck. Wir buchen nie wieder über dieses Portal.

Wir haben zwei Wochen in Spalanni verbracht und haben uns voll erholt. Die Zeit am privaten Pool war einfach entspannend und zum Kraft/Sonne tanken. Grösse und Tiefe einfach toll für unsere zwei Mädels (12Jahre). Sie hatten mega Spass. Der Garten drumherum sehr schön angelegt und mit der Lorbeerbuschhecke auch vor Einsicht weitestgehend geschützt. Durch den eingegrenzten Garten konnte sich Odin (Schoko Labrador) frei bewegen. Er hat es geliebt. Da wir einen kleinen Hundepool mit hatten, ist er auch nicht mitgeschwommen. Die Bienentränke hat er in Ruhe gelassen, friedliche Tierchen und beeindruckend anzuschauen. Das Auffüllen mit Wasser genauso wie die Poolreinigung haben wir nie mitbekommen. Hab die Bienen aber auch gern bei der Wärme mit Wasser versorgt. Lage etwas außerhalb, dadurch super ruhig und idyllisch, und dennoch gut für Ausflüge gelegen: Poppi in 10min, Arezzo und Florenz in knapp 1h, Montepulciano und Val d'Orcia in 1.5h, Sienna und Pisa und Rimini in 2h mit Auto zu erreichen. Da konnten wir die Toskana voll kennenlernen. Unsere Favoriten: Arezzo, Montepulciano (+ Florenz). Die umliegenden Winzer haben wir nicht geschafft zu besuchen, aber mit dem Festival del Vino (Danke Peter für die Empfehlung) den mega Einblick bekommen. Auch die Tipps für weitere Ausflüge und Ratschläge (Florenz lieber mit Zug) spiegelten die herzliche Gastfreundschaft wieder. Jederzeit stand Peter per WhatsApp zur Verfügung. Fantastischer Gastgeber !!! Mega Urlaub, wir kommen gern wieder!

Het ligt in een zeer rustige omgeving met enkele lokale gezinnen. Het huis is goed te vinden met navigatie, bij aankomst hangt er een bord met je naam aan het hek. We zijn vriendelijk ontvangen door Peter (broer van de eigenaar) Peter heeft ons wegwijs gemaakt en tips gegeven. Een hele lieve man. Het huis is netjes en gezellig ingericht. Het zwembad is een fijne toevoeging op de zeer warme dagen. Word ook netjes onderhouden. Bij dit huis moet je wel rekening houden met de reisafstanden tussen de high lights van Toscane. Poppi en Arezzo zijn goed te doen binnen een uur maar Florence of bijvoorbeeld Siena kost al snel ruim anderhalf uur. Maar ook die zijn de moeite waard. Sowieso heeft de huiseigenaar hiervoor tips qua vervoer in de map zitten. We hebben geweldig genoten van onze tijd in dit huis en is het voor ons zeker een aarrader! Nogmaals, Peter bedankt voor de gezellige praatjes en tips.

If you need to switch off, if you need to unplug from your digital world for a while - this is the place for you. In the middle of a local settlement, no other tourists, local shops, everything within a 5-10 minute car journey... Property is very rustic, pool is great, we travelled with a dog and it was no issue..

Vi er en familie på fem (to voksne og tre børn på henholdsvis 6 år, 4 år og 6 måneder) som havde fornøjelsen af en uges ferie i denne skønne bolig. Den har en dejlig beliggenhed og indeholder alle de faciliteter, man har brug for som en familie med små børn. Der er god mulighed for at tage på både korte og længere ture til de omkringliggende byer. Boligen er kølig selv på meget varme dage. Poolen har en god størrelse og børnene elskede at bade i den. Ferieboligens udlejer, Richard, var utrolig venlig og hjalp os, hvis vi havde spørgsmål eller brug for råd og vejledning. Vi kan varmt anbefale denne feriebolig :-)

Een warm welkom van de eigenaar Richard. Het huis was goed aangeduid d.m.v. een bord met onze naam er op, heel fijn! Heerlijk huis met een ruime keuken waarin bij aankomst de koelkast was gevuld met diverse etenswaren en drank. Zeer aangename verrassing! Fijne badkamer en slaapkamer. Buiten was het warm, in het huis heerlijk koel. Je hebt diverse terrassen tot je beschikking. Zwembad was heerlijk, met voldoende ligbedden. Eigenaar woont naast de accommodatie en is daardoor ook beschikbaar voor vragen of tips. Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette habitation. Richard est un hôte extrêmement agréable, serviable et discret. La propriété est parfaite pour une famille de 4 avec 2 enfants. Tout est aménagé avec goût dans le style Toscan et le jardin et la piscine sont très bien entretenus. La propriété est clôturée et totalement privatisée. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés :-).

We’ve just had a week at Richard’s villa and cannot recommend it enough. The location is beautiful, up a mountain. It’s remote enough to feel alone, but with a scattering of homes around it you, I still felt safe. Beautiful views all around. It’s in a fantastic location to explore Tuscany, although we enjoyed the villa so much, we only ventured out a couple of times to some small villages, which were very beautiful and very Italian. The owner, Richard, was on hand to offer invaluable help with his knowledge of the area. Although he lives in the adjoining property, we never, ever, felt that our privacy was compromised. Richard was discreet and helpful. He supplied some unexpected welcome supplies on arrival (eggs, cheese, milk Prosecco and more) and even baked for us twice whilst we were there. The villa itself is lovely. It’s really quaint and Italian. It doesn’t have air conditioning (which worried me at first) but as Richard had already assured me, it wasn’t needed. It was perfectly cool on a night. The kitchen is well equipped to cook, and there is also a bbq area underneath a grapevine covering. There’s an additional seating area on a terrace upstairs too, which we tended to use on an evening. The swimming pool is immaculate and a perfect temperature. Just lovely to cool down in. There are areas in full sun around the pool to sunbathe, but also plenty of places with shade. We are a family of 5 (kids aged 9,7 and 4) and it was perfect for us. I would recommend it to anyone though. So, all in all, we had a fabulous week in a lovely villa. Richard was an amazing host and his villa is an absolute credit to him. We hope to visit again. If we visit Tuscany again, we will be returning to this villa.

Just returned from a very relaxing two week stay at Casa Gardina, which is a well maintained property perfect for a family of four and accurately matches the description on HomeAway. Kids especially loved the pool area with it's inflatables and loungers and was quite private from the owner's garden thanks to a mature thick hedge. Richard, the owner, was on hand for help and advice throughout our holiday, and his easygoing and pleasant manner made it a stress free fortnight.

Das Haus liegt ruhig und etwas abseits. Es hat einen tollen Garten mit vielen schattigen Sitzplätzen und einen grossen Pool mit Liegen. Auch das Haus selber ist toll ausgestattet und trotz großer Hitze war es im Haus erträglich. Der Vermiter wohnt nebenan und ist ein sehr hilfsbereiter Gastgeber mit vielen hilfreichen Tipps. Dabei ist er stets zurückhaltend und unaufdringlich. Überragend warcdas Willkommenspaket mit Milch, O-Saft, Butter, Brot, Käse und Wein. Handtücher für den Pool waren ebenfalls vorhanden. Florenz, Siena und Arezzo sowie San Giminagno sind gut jeweils als Tagesausflug zu erreichen. Für uns war das Haus sufgrund der ruhigen Lage und des tollen Pools soeie des Gartens ein oerfektes Urlaubsdomizil. Richard a big thank you fir your outstanding hospitality. We definately recommrnd this cottage for people eho look for a quiet retreat and still want to do some sighseeing.

Super fijn huis met veel ruimte en privacy. Heerlijk zwembad wat heel goed verzorgd is. Vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar niets is teveel! Het huis heeft verschillende terrassen in de zon en in de schaduw dus altijd plaats waar je maar wilt. Goede uitvalsbasis om verschillende steden te bezoeken, ook in het plaatselijke dorpje zijn de mensen erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad!

We were very warmly welcomed bij Richard, the owner. He had provided a filled fridge with the first necessary groceries and a stuffend fruit basket. The next day he gave us some tips to discover the area. The owner lives next door and is always accessible, but that is not at all disturbing. The house is cool inside and is very fully furnished. Is has good beds, A whole complete kitchen (only the dishwasher is missing, but I survived;)) a bathroom with a nice view and upstairs a recreationroom with a couch, a big tv and a dvd player. Also the pool is lovely for swimming and relaxing and has enough possibilities to sit in the sun or in the shade. In the lovely village one is super friendly, especially at the bakery, where we regularly got something extra with our order. At Richards recommendation we have eaten at The Street Saloon in the village, and we really had "the best pizza ever"!! We have been to Pisa for one day, Beautiful city, but actually drive a bit too long for a day. We also made a tour around Sienna, with really stunning views (!) and Sienna itself also was lovely. In short we had a wonderful holiday!

Casa Giardino is a lovely house in a tiny hilltop village in the heart of rural Tuscany. The house itself is very tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. There was nothing we needed. There were even some essential food items (and prosecco) in the fridge for when we arrived, which was a godsend as the supermarket had closed. The views from the balcony were beautiful and the location very peaceful. The pool was perfect for us and our children and was well used every day. There were plenty of loungers and towels available as well as plastic glasses and crockery for use around the poolside. Richard, the owner could not have been more helpful, offering advice on places to visit, best supermarket, where to go and eat etc and even accompanied us on some of our evenings out which was most enjoyable. We feel like we made a friend and hope that we can one day return again to stay in that beautiful house.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Giardino. It is situated in a very peaceful spot, perfect as a place to unwind but also good as a start point for exploring the area. You do need a car to stay here but I'd imagine that would be taken as read. The property has everything needed to cook full meals (which we did) and various options of where to eat them. There are also some cracking delis nearby from which to source excellent ingredients. Richard was very helpful throughout our stay - I would recommend Casa Giardino to anyone looking for a laid back stay in the heart of rural Tuscany.

Famille de 2 adultes et 3 enfants, nous avons séjourné pendant 2 semaines dans cette très agréable maison, très très propre et bien entretenue. Un peu située dans les montagnes, une voiture est indispensable. Nous avons profité de la piscine, nettoyée chaque matin par Richard le propriétaire. Richard et son épouse Poppy sont d'une grande gentillesse et toujours très disponibles pour tout renseignement sur la région, les restaurants, les visites à proximité. Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de cette location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Giardino. The house has been updated in an Italian style and we found it exceptionally clean. The house has new bedding and all the kitchen items you would ever require. The outside is a peaceful oasis with fruit trees and a beautiful terrace for dining. The pool was also clean and very well maintained with toys to entertain the children. We found there was a lot to do in the area, yet really enjoyed getting away from the crowds and relaxing at the house too. I highly recommend a week or two at this property.
