Great stay. Good location. Amazing views. Lovely pool, sunbeds and poolside bar. Room comfortable and good size. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good but not great, but Sadly couldn’t sit on terrace due to prolific wasp population!

Hotel is amazing, so many antiques and curiosity’s to look at. Very much old fashioned style. Stunning views, quiet location. Book an Etna view room as away from the road. Lots of choice for breakfast and the hotel restaurant just up the road, La Caverna is wonderful. From the pool, reception and the restaurant staff I really can’t fault them. This really is a wonderful hotel. A short walk up a hill is Castelmola for beautiful shops bars and lovely for a drink in the evening. Bus stop outside hote 15 mins to Taormina. You can walk down if fit. Great location

Situated in the beautiful village of Castlemola, this comfortable hotel offers unrivalled views of Mount Etna. Well worth getting a room with a balcony and mountain view. Breakfast was good and varied and the staff extremely accommodating. A few of our evening meals were taken at the nearby Caverna restaurant which is also owned by the hotel (with discount available for guests). A great walk down to Taormina was well worth the effort but keep an eye on the bus times as Taxis can be expensive. All in all, an absolutely delightful stay.

Just a wonderful property. Great service from the staff. All very friendly and accommodating to your needs. Property is very clean. The breakfast was very good every day. It’s a short walk up to Castelmola which has some excellent restaurants and breathtaking landscape and shops. Grab a short bus ride into Taormina right outside of the hotel also. We would definitely stay at this property again.

The hotel is about 20 minutes up a very steep and winding road above Taorimina so it's not convenient to go back and forth. The decor is dated, but the hotel has an old world charm and the setting is beautiful. The back of the hotel looks at Mount Etna and the wonderful pool faces it too. The breakfast was nice and had typical Sicilian pastries. They could update the decorations in the rooms and lobby.

A good spot above Taormina. Runs shuttle bus to the town. Rooms are OK. Our was a little run down with a loud grinding air conditioner, and a leaking faucet. The staff are very hard working both at the hotel and in the evening at the restaurant. Breakfasts are good, and the pool is very good. Good parking available across the street under ground. Easy access to Castelmolo by walking up some stairs.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The views of Etna were breathtaking. The location in Castelmola was unexpectedly delightful, far from the crowds in Taormina, and peaceful after a hard day’s sightseeing and shopping. The journeys to and from the hotel were always exhilarating/terrifying in equal measure. You don’t need a car, but do need to be on top of timetables if you plan to rely on public transport.

We had a lovely stay at Villa Sonia. Could not recommend this hotel enough. The hotel was spotless, very large room (we booked the double with Etna views) Breakfast and hotel bar service was fab. Amazing location for exploring Castelmola and Taormina. A handy bus service operates throughout the day, just outside the hotel €3 return to Taormina centre (10/15 min journey) The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and really went out their way to make sure we had a good stay. Highly recommend the restaurant associated to the hotel a short walk up the road. A fabulous hotel for exploring the nearby sights or for relaxing and soaking up the sun (the pool area always had loungers free to use and was super clean/ tidy) Thanks for having us, we will most definitely be back! 😊

The previous reviews and high ratings for this hotel are extremely misleading. This hotel is old and dirty -- our room was filled with ants and smelt like cigarettes. We checked in at 1am and literally checked out at 8am -- 4 days earlier than expected. Not to mention the staff at the front desk was rude and inconsiderate upon check out. It is also very far from the town of Taoromina and inconvenient to get back and forth. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

The staff was so very helpful - before and during our stay. They were very hard working too. The hotel is quaint and comfortable and our rooms had absolutely stunning views of Mount Etna! I would highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed for 5 nights but would have loved to have stayed longer. Every member of staff at the hotel we met during our stay was helpful, especially David on reception who made us welcome as soon as we arrived. The whole hotel is kept extremely clean, and the team are visibility working hard throughout the day. We had a Classic room which was large enough for our needs and had alot of storage. There was never a problem with getting a sun bed around the pool and the views of Mt. Etna are breathtaking. Breakfast is a buffet with a good hot and cold selection and there is a great restaurant next door called the Caverna in addition a short walk up into the main square there are plenty of good restaurants. The hotel offers a free Shuttle bus into Taomina, can organise a number of trips, we had a day at a beach club,  and a vineyard trip. We had a great stay and hope to be back next year.

The staff in this facility were very nice and helpful. In particular Davide on the reception desk was very helpful, respectful and nice. The only issue I had with this facility is the parking was a little bit difficult because of the nature of the area which was very hilly.
