What a truly stunning location Somersby Falls is! There are awesome facilities on site, BBQ's, toilets and benches etc. You have too take a short walk ( about 5ish minutes easy intensity down and moderate back up ) and you arrive at the stunning waterfalls. You can do to the lower falls or this location which is the top falls. The Waterfront in Gosford is turning red in a sea of poppy's to commemorate our ANZAC's. Each poppy is handmade,unique and individual like our soldiers. On 25 April 2015, Australians and New Zealanders unite as on this day 100 years ago, our troops landed on the shores of Gallipoli in WW1. This was the turning point of our Nation who is now known to be a strong and independent nation in the worlds eye. Lest we forget.

This little Island is very isolated with access only by boat. A ferry ride from Brooklyn will get you there in about 15 minutes. The ferry service is fairly frequent and reasonable in price. $6.70 Adults and $3.40 children over 5/Seniors/Concession, this is each way. The walking track around Dangar Island is just 3.3km from the ferry wharf. Up the hills and down around bends, the views across the Hawkesbury river are second to none. Lots of quirky and artistic finds and the flora and fauna is abundant with a lot of native flowers in bloom.

Where to stay in Central Coast Hinterland

Bradley’s beach was a lovely spot to stop and have our picnic lunch. It’s also the location you can see remains of shellfish which is evidence of Aboriginal occupation.

There is a total lack of staff numbers in the hotel - we paid for breakfasts but there was no food, no plates & we had to clean tables ourselves to sit at.
