「I last stayed here more than 4 years ago and it was okay. Since then they have improved beyond measure. Extensive expansion, a new restaurant and much more professional. It is at the highest end of budget, delivers fantastic value in a good but quiet location and the service was brilliant - especially from Shakira and Angel. If I am ever in the area I would definitely choose Banda Lodge for value, ambience and service. And the Swedish beef/potato/egg thing on the menu is delicious!」

「This is a unique experience - lots of art, flowers, gardens, birds, monkeys and water in a very rural setting, just off the Entebbe - Kampala road. Janet, the owner with her husband Andreas, runs a tight ship, and service is very good. Thanks!」

「Really beautiful location next to the Nile. Bungalow was spacious and comfortable. Food locally sourced was really tasty. Everything had been thought of for a place to recharge batteries. Great staff and opportunities for local walks with guides. Felt really safe. Picture windows look out over the falls. I’d far rather come here than any expensive Kampala hotel」

「The property is beautiful and serene, the front desk staff need a little more training as instead of checking for my bookings first asked me to prove that I had booked and paid online. In fact they assured me that I would be put out as all rooms were filled up, when I asked to talk to their manager is when they looked and found my name actually on the list. Otherwise my stay was lovely, I will go again with family n friends.」

「This hotel is so rundown and disgusting. The pool was so dirty. The baby pool didn't even have water. The pool bar was not in use. The pool toilets didn't work and were extremely unhygienic. The furniture around the pool is all broken bits of timber. Nothing has been maintained. The place looks like an abandoned hotel from a horror movie. The rooms had mold covering the ceiling. The curtains were filthy. There was no hot water. The pillows and mattresses were old and uncomfortable. The...

「als Unterkunft für Gäste völlig (!) daneben. Man bekommt ein Zimmer mit Bett und (Plumbs)Klo - das ist soweit ja gut. Aber man müsste vorher die Gäste schon darüber infomieren, dass es nur Gemeinschaftsessen gibt. Bei uns gab es kein Essen - wir mussten die Leute bitten, dass sie uns was abgeben. Frühstück gab es gar nicht und überhaupt wurde uns nicht gesagt wie das alles da abläuft. Für einen "Selbstfindungsaufenthalt" sicherlich OK - definitiv NICHT geeignet um Gäste aufzunehmen.」

「We had a lovely 5-day Christmas getaway at Buvi Lodge. The staff was kind, the place was clean, and the rooms were beautiful. Food was reasonably priced and yummy. We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere so much. The only negative was that because of the solar power, we couldn’t get a hot bath unless the sun was shining (I was really looking forward to hot baths, but did enjoy only one). Also, upon checkout, there was some confusion around our receipt that took some time to sort out. Next time...
