Budget Friendly Historic Charleston Location

Our family was headed to Charleston for a short stay and wanted to be close to many of the attractions, shopping, and restaurants of the area. This property is located right on King St. and within walking distance to everything we wanted to explore. Although a small apartment, it had everything we needed for our family to have a nice stay - two king beds, two full bathrooms, and a kitchen and living area.

Wow! What a great stay, clean secure and welcoming place. Stayed in the Edisto suite for a couples trip, was exactly what we were looking for right in the heart of everything going on. Lots of food and bars within walking distance. Was a great expirience, 5 stars for ease of communication (text) 10/10 would recommend and will be back.!

Great Stay at Edisto Suite

Modern apartment style space in a great location. As great as the location and lodging spaces were, the highlight was the extremely responsive team. Their communication and assistance took the stay the extra mile and really made our visit to Charleston memorable. Very accurate listing- Centrally located in the middle of King Street with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and most other attractions in the area. Would definitely stay here again and would look to stay with this Company’s properties again.

Perfect location! Loved the accommodations! Two things you may want to be aware of: *The half-split in the first bedroom started making a loud noise, so we turned it off for a while, *the lamp on the left side of the bed in that same room ‘s switch does not seem to be working…I was just able to twist the bulb to turn it on and off. None of these hindered our stay in the least…just thought you would like to know! Thanks!

Could have been cleaner. Floors needed washing and some glassware was dirty. Linens and towels were clean and rooms large and well supplied. Quiet and well situated. Close to a lot of downtown area and restaurants. Overall, great stay.

Stay Duvet not my kind of host in a natural disaster scenario

This review is about Stay Duvet, the host. Ratings were required for every category even though they don't apply in this case. WE DID NOT STAY at property due to travel disruptions and city closures during Tropical Storm Debby. This host has a policy of no refunds due to hurricanes. I understand that a possible hurricane that never materializes causes unwarranted cancellations and disrupts the hosts business. But that was not the case. The mayor of Charleston imposed a curfew and closed access to this location during the storm. If we could have gotten to the property, it would have meant unsafe conditions due to flooding in the area for driving and walking. Businesses and restaurants surrounding this property put out their sandbags and closed their doors. I asked to reschedule my trip or receive a refund and was denied any flexibility in their policy. This is not a host that I will ever stay with again. I will be rescheduling my trip and Stay Duvet has a number of nice properties in the Charleston area but I refuse to do future business with them based on this experience. I have stayed at many VRBO properties and have never encountered this kind of treatment. Communicating with them was difficult. I could never speak to a person. They only responded to messages. Their responses were all some version of how sorry they were that my travel was impacted like this. On the other hand, VRBO did refund their fees due to the circumstances and were easy to contact.
