Cute and cozy DUPLEX in Matthews.
I’ll start with the positives. The duplex was immaculate in terms of cleanliness, and the renovations are absolutely beautiful! However, just know that even though the listing shows a house, your entrance on the left and it is a duplex and not the entire house. We were traveling with our dog, which I felt bad about because I’m a very thoughtful traveler and only rent whole homes because my dog is still young and she barks and is very active. This residence would be fine if you have a dog that prefers to be inside most of the time. It is the first house off a VERY busy road and unfortunately while the back yard is fenced…the shared wraparound porch does not have a gate. Thankfully I traveled with a travel gate and was able to utilize that to block that exit. I still never let my dog out without me being immediately with her because of the proximity to the road. Also, if you are staying here and ordering Instacart, etc. just know they’ll deliver it to the front door which is to the neighboring duplex and kind of awkward to have to go over there and apologize. Again, gorgeous place, great furnishings, but just want for other travelers to know my experience if you’re traveling with your fur kid.
